This is the third time it came out and everytime they add a new filling, they drill more of my teeth. Do you think i would need a root canal?

No, but you might need a tooth crown.

What tooth is being filled? Where is the filling? What kind of filling has fallen out 3 times? It does not sound like the tooth needs a root canal. Typically a tooth needs a root canal when the nerve inside the tooth is dead, or it looks like the filling will come very very close to the nerve. Since you don't speak of any pain or swelling, I would not say the tooth needs a root canal.

Not sure if you need a root canal or not...but maybe you should try a new dentist. Maybe the dentist you are using isn't doing something right since your filling keeps coming out. The dentist you are using right now may have his reasons, but you can't always take them at their word. They are trying to make money sometimes, and may be half-assing it so you have to keep coming back. In the meantime, go to a drugstore or wal-mart, and you can buy a temporary filling compound to put it there till you can make it back to the dentist. It's not expensive, and it will keep you from having any pain for now.

I think you need to find a dentist who will put a crown on your tooth BEFORE you need a root canal. I had the same thing happen to me six times and when I finally went to a different dentist, the damage was so bad that he couldn't save my tooth at all--not even with a root canal. So now I am minus a molar and not happy about it. If you aren't happy with your dentist, get another opinion. Best of luck to you!
