i am looking for a tv to place on display in a house im selling is it possible to just boy the outer box with nothing inside and if it where could i find this

I know exactly where. Go to Office Depot or anywhere where they sell Sauder furniture (the kind you build yourself right out of a box). They always use these cardboard fake TVs. Sounds like what you´re looking for.
Now that you found it... ask the manager for a "huge favor"... I bet you can talk him into giving it to you for free. Maybe say it's for your young son´s science project.

I don't know where they are purchased, but I see them in furniture stores all the time. Go to one and ask where they get them.

Try ANY TV repair shop....they'll have one sitting around....
