Especially if she dates a black man. Do whites or white men get offended by this? Talk about it.

It's a big deal because race relations are still a big problem especially in the USA. I heard rumor that white girls who date black men are consider ruin "white" race. As far as black women, it is totally different case. I think white women are considered the forbidden fruit. Black men were killed for looking at a white women. There are less black men than there are white men. I notice a lot of Italians being prejudice against blacks. I always heard Italians have black blood in them. I see some Italians with nappy hair just like a black person. I don't get it. I don't see why they are prejudice. I know a majority of them are. I always heard Italians men like black women look at Robert De Niro. It cracks me up when I see a Arabians, Indians, Greeks, Latinos, Cambodians etc just as dark as a black people in fact darker and most people will think they are black until they open their mouth but they are prejudice against blacks. It's so sad.

Squeakers, I agree with you. I have two brothers who dated and married outside of their race. It doesn't brother me now but I am noticing a trend in black and Latino men dating and marry "white" women. The women they married used and abuse them. They gave these women everything they had. I know if these women were sistas. My brothers wouldn't have done half the things they did for these white and Asian women. My brothers paid their rent, brought them nice jewelry, and expensive trips. I told my brothers these women are gold digger and you wouldn't do this for a sista. My little brother said it is easy to control these women. They give him money, credit cards, let him drive their nice cars, don't pay any rent etc and he doesn't have to work as hard. There are some black men out there who still date and love black women. I encourage sistas who are still single start dating outside of our race too. Some black men don't care and are taking the easy way out.

I don't think white men are offended by white women dating black men. I would say black women are more offended. There are times when we (black women) fell that we are not good enough for black men anymore. (Why?). If you've noticed (and I'm sure you have); black men who date white woman tend to treat them better. Black men disrespect black women (a lot),when they don't seem to realize, that their mother is black too!. A black man does not want a black woman who does'nt have a job. She has to get out there and bust her a.s.s,just like he does, but a white woman can sit on hers, and he'll be content. I don't care if she has a good job,or nothing at all. These men are afraid to even look at a black women, while they are in the presence of a white woman. Why are so many male black athelets, movie stars, entertainers, (and so on), choosing to marry either white or very fair skinned black women?. Is it the fact that they prefer them or is the the fact that they want light-skinned children?. (Also) notice that these marriages don't last very long. They pick these "High Priced" Beauties (who did'nt have a pot to piss in at the beginning), who give them a house full of babies, and end up paying hundreds and thousand of $$$'s later on in Alimony and Child Support.
Well! I think people should fall in love for the right reasons, not because of color or money. I hate to say this, but Black Men need to "Wake-UP"!,and leave the "Golddiggers" alone!.
If a black woman in the "Club" asked a black man to buy her a drink,he fells she's begging (but!) when a white woman asked for a drink, she gets it!---------No Questions Asked!
(To answer your question?) "Yes" I think black men treat black woman differently, when it comes to dating.
(PS) I am not a Racist, and I believe in: "TO EACH HIS OWN". You can't help falling in love with whomever, but let's face it,times have changed. You will see just as many homosexual relationships now-a-days,then mixed relationships. (Go Figure!)

No, as a white woman it doesn't bother me at all. A man is a man, a woman is a woman. If you find someone that you like/love then more power to you, treat each other right & be happy. I see every person as an individual, not their race. More people should be like that.
My addition:
Okay, I just had to edit my answer to add something. I know that a lot of people really do think that white women date black men because of the MYTH that they have a bigger penis than any other race. Okay people, IT IS JUST A MYTH! I have worked in the medical field for the past 14 years & yes, I have seen a lot of penis throughout the years because of this, every man is different & the MAJORITY are average size. There you go, mystery solved.

well, some may probably see you as not entirely white like them and they are probably scared that if they touch you or come too closer, the African-American guys will react. They probably don't want much complication. Don't bother with the white guys. With a mixed race, I'm sure you look gorgeous (most do). The best guy shall get you (African-American or white). Don't settle for anything less. Don't compromise. lol

Its the same reason a black woman gets offended when she sees a fine well accomplished black man with a white woman. I don't have a problem with dating outside your race, but alot of people do and when you're around people that have a problem with it or say something whenever they see it it makes it hard not to comment.

In this day and age, there is nothing to be offended about. People do this ALL the time. And I've got 3 friends (white) and they are married to black men and one asian and they are 100% happy and in love and not one person in my city looks twice at them.

It definately depends on the persons ethnic backround or like orientation. My family would mind if I dated a black woman because I am from Italian/Sicilian descent. My Mom's side is very italian and would mind a lot. My dad's side of the family however would not bother them in the slightest. Hes german and he couldnt care less who I dated as long as they were nice and polite. So definately through a white standpoint its not actually the white point of view its the ethnic backround or orientation of the person.

I don't think that what they think should matter. Most black men choose to date white women because they are less dramatic in some cases, and have different personalities. I know white men don't care unless you are somewhere down south where there is still racism left, of course racism is all over. Anyways date whover you deem is worthy for you.

I just don't understand why this is such a huge subject that everyone feels needs to be addressed. I think that if people would just concentrate on looking below the surface and focus on what someone has to offer to a relationship, then we wouldn't be worrying about skin color being an issue. Remember that love has NO color.
Side note: Can someone please explain what "John's wife" is talking about?

I think that if you ARE treated differently ,it would by someone born before the 60's. I think that we have surpassed prejudice and I live in the South! I have dated black men before and was not treated differently.
