A man is supposed to leave his parents and cleave to his wife. This is what it says in the Bible! The son is supposed to stand on his own two feet and let MOM know how he feels! He can't be much of a man, if he can't stand up to his MOM

There are times when a man needs to stand up to his mother and make his own choice. As for what the Bible says.
Genesis 2:23-24
23And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

This is sick, and definitely against God's will.
Genesis 2 says it plainly: a man shall leave his mother and father, and cling to his wife.
That doesn't mean you have to get married to break away from Mom. Think of Jesus' relationship with Mary. Both Jacob and David left home before they were married. (Actually, David may have split his time between home and Saul's palace.)

Wrong section, sweetie... god really could not care less. If your friend wants to marry a real man, tell her not to do try to convert a mama's boy. And if you have one, it is he who has to grow some balls to train her, not you....
I had a friend whose mama interfered and drove off every lady he ever dated or married...mama would call many times during the day, and if he didn't answer that night she'd drive down his alley in her car, open her window at 2:00 am and call his name... PEEEEETTTRRRRRRRR!!!!!. No marriage lasted, he was in counseling most of his life, and when she finally died, he remained unstable, and could still hardly hold a job. She crippled him big time, and he never was free of her.... Tell the girl not to marry a man like this.. At 50 he can't change any more than Pete could... even with help, big time..... It is a personality defect, and is barely treatable, as 20 years in counseling for sure proved. Ask any counselor, and for sure, she should... god has nothing to do with it.....
