... other than manifesting Himself in flesh, as Jesus? Why not send Himself as an Angel to redeem us of our sins?

(I have an answer, but I want to solicit opinions from y'all - Thanks)

God must be true to His being. He must be perfectly just, and perfectly merciful. His justice calls out for the destruction of sin as evidenced by blood. His mercy calls for forgiveness and love. These two attributes clash. From the beginning God saw that the only way to be able to meet both of these requirements of His nature that He would need to provide an eternal sacrifice. The only One who could do that was Himself. But He would have to take a mortal body capable of death to accomplish this mission. Any other couldn't suffer bleed and die as is called for by His justice. An angel couldn't die or shed blood. He in His glory couldn't do this work. He would have to put on mortality. Because He is still eternal and exists presently in all time he still hangs there on that cross, suffering and dieing for us. I know it's a terrible thought but never less true. See in the Name he gave Moses at the burning bush, the name he used for Himself when the Pharisees asked who He is, He said I AM.. Before Abraham was... I AM ..... Jim

From the beginning, sin was covered with blood. When Adam and Eve sinned, an animal's blood was shed. Through out the Old Testament , different sins and things required sacrifices. Sins were covered by blood. But this was not lasting, as it was done over and over. God had to be born as a human and shed His blood. This was the only sacrifice that was perfect. It made atonement for us. Jesus said "it is finished" or maybe it is now perfected. All we need to do is accept it.

What are Angels, but disciples of God, and he sent us the best, his son Jesus.

Matthew 28:16-20
But the eleven disciples proceeded to Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had designated.
When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some were doubtful.
And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Look the whole thing is on God. He created us, and every other quark part in the universe, etc. etc. So he did it the way (I think) the bible relates who am I to argue with him. He's not going to entertain suggestions from me. The Bottom Line is this. God gets and takes, all credit for all that He wants to take credit for. The rest he either doesn't let it happen, or We get the blame. So to recap, god gets the glory, we get the blame. Ce Clear?

In the bible it says, that god is strict but righteous. He shows this by sacrficing his only son to redeem us from our sins. Since he is creator of all existing, he can't be unjustful against himself by not being what he is and just doing what he wants to do. So this was the only way of showing us how he really is.

Well, he didn't have to MAKE the rule that the punishment for sin was death. If he hadn't made that rule up i guess he wouldn't have had to send Jesus to get around it. I don't really understand WHY Jesus had to die for our sins... God made the penalty for sin death. Then to debunk this he send Jesus (himself) to Earth to die... then everything was ok...??

Since God knows what he is doing, this was the best and only way to save us and knowing Satan's thoughts that Satan would think that Jesus died for nothing.....That was the other reason why Jesus went to hell, to let Satan know that he was defeated.

If he came as an angel , he wouldn't have the power or the ability to pay for sins.
