Walking to the beach, he had been tense for so long, he just kept dropping his things without a care. "Finally.." he sighed, as he looked at the world of water facing him. Ignoring the rocks biting his feet, he began to wade. He took a deep breath of the salty air, and suddenly, he heard it! The most intense, incredible voice of...no! Wait! It couldn't be just any woman! Blinking as the sun danced on the water, he looked around...There! He saw her! She was relaxed, her naked skin soaking in sun. Gasping, he stared. The quiet sound brought her out of her reverie. She spotted him! He realized he must look like a fish out of water. Gracefully, she flung herself into the water. Stumbling, desperate, he tried to follow. He was too late! She was gone! He felt a horrible pain cascade through his body, as he jerked his head about seeking her. There! Was she coming back? Relief replacing pain seeped, like the cold water, into his body. When she got to him, she explained using her telepathy why she had ran. She was a siren, and should be taking him to is death, but she couldn't do it anymore. Somehow her heart had melted the ice around her heart. As she was the lonely outcast, she wanted to be with him, not kill him. Along with her telepathy, she was able to discern this man was just for her to love. She understood him perfectly, just as he did her. Together they arose from the water. They kissed the kind of kiss they had both dreamed of, but thought impossible. as they went to the surface. Together, feeling totally whole, they walked back to the camp. Although they had to deal with their rebellious teenagers from his first marriage, they lived as happy as possible until the end of their days. The end. Peace!
