The ancient Greeks & Romans rejected kneeling as part of their worship saying it was unworthy of a free man, unsuitable for their culture and appropriate for barbarians. Is your belief that its not just our physical position, but a humble posture of the heart in showing a deep reverence for God? I believing in kneeling before God.

This is a matter of individual choice. I believe that kneeling is a sign of reverence and humility. If you want to kneel before God, go ahead. If you'd rather stand or sit or lie flat on the floor, go ahead. Ultimately, God is more interested in your heart than in your body position.

Barbaric. The christian god is actually a protojewish tribal chieftain, not an "actual" god. The reason he's so obsessed with everyone kissing his butt and making sure proper respects are paid is because he's a petty chieftain who has to demand unquestioning obedience of his people lest they depose him. Usually that meant killing him.

Zorro, I too share your belief about kneeling to God....but when I can't kneel, I just bow my head....it is a sign of respect and submission that I freely give Him....

May you walk in Joy :)

It is certainly a laudable custom. It shows reverence to your King.

I have to agree with the Romans there (if they actually thought that).
