"Poverty is what drives the good natured but less privilaged into criminal behavour, so if everyone was at least comfortable, there would be no incentive for crime."
Extremely oversimplified, and not true, to boot. If that were the truth, there wouldn't be Enron or any other "white collar" crime by those who aren't in poverty but who break the law anyway.

How many wars can you think of that occurred in the last century over religion? How many wars can you think of that were caused over political ideology? The number one cause of irrational behavior, bigotry, suppression and discontent is a lack of moral restraint which is becoming a American specialty. The leading cause of a lack of moral restraint is no religion.

We will always have religious people and alwys have poverty. Inequality is a fact of life. Rome, Greece, Communism - all great empires plus countless others.
Spiritual people are very well thought of in the world in general. religious people are different from spiritual ones.
Ghandi was spiritual. Jesus was spiritual. The Popes are spiritual people. Religion? Doctrine? Dogma? Different altogether.
Do not confuse religion with spirituality.

No, you're forgetting the main obstacle for peace, *POLITICS*, and we all know that, like it or not, politics will always be there due to "greed".
Regarding "poverty", we just have to get rid of those that are just plain "parasites" that love to make believe they are poor so they can keep living on someone else's money, like the "professional welfare people". Those also depend on the POLITICS that keep putting welfare money in their hands in exchange for votes.

In theory Communism is a good thing too... but history has shown that it doesn't work well either. The problem is that some folks will find a way to get power, and power corrupts.

Yes, if we got rid of religion a lot of violence would be reduced or eliminated. Religion is a poision on our society and needs to be erradicated. It does nothing but divide people, cause suffering, death, and poverty. It is just an old form of control on society that is outdated.

Let's take your theory and apply it to famous people in Hollywood. Many of them are not religious. Many of them do not suffer from poverty. Yet we see criminal behavior cropping up from time to time in that part of the world.
I find it interesting that you left politics out of this mix.

you and your big fancy words don't say much....people don't get along because everyone is different and therefore have differing opinions on how to run the world....getting rid of religion is impossible and people have been forbidden to practice it for years, but yet people still do.......as far as poverty---well, just because someone is poor doesn't mean they're not smart.....so what you really want to get rid of is racism, prejudice, and just plain stupidity......Good Luck

That's your "opinion" and while you're entitled to it....it's just your "opinion".
The world will always have people who have faith/religion in their lives...that's been true since the beginning of time.....and people fighting each other for whatever reasons.... has been around since the beginning of time.
