...a Christian to BE a Christian? (especially people who OBVIOUSLY display evil and unGodly character)

That seems ignorant to me. If one does not know what it takes to be a Christian; and no doubt doesn't have the desire to find out; how can one have an intelligent opinion. That is SO lazy.

I agree and so does the Bible. Jesus says in Matthew 7:22 that not everyone who says "Lord! Lord!" would be saved as they did not do the will of God.

Most people are lazy in accepting the clergy's word for anything, especially when they have a financial interest in the outcome. In business, any thinking business person would do outside checking and verification before accepting the word of someone whose paycheck will be effected by the answer.

They don't wish to consider it isn't up to people to say they follow Christ. It is up the the standards already set and written in the Bible. Meet those standards and then call yourself Christian.

If I go by the bible, there is no such thing as a true christian.

Luckily, we have 5 senses.
Besides, it is better to be blind than to see illusions.

"True Christian" is, I believe, a trademark of http://www.landoverbaptist.org/

NOTE: don't go there if you don't have a sense of humor, it's biting satire.
