The best thing to do is to not drink any alcohol at all. Some will say that an occasional glass of wine is okay, but I work with children who have alcohol related disorders, and all research suggests that any amount of alcohol is bad when pregnant. Let me put it this way, would you give an infant an occasional glass of wine? I mean chances are the baby would be fine, but you wouldn't do that right?

That depends on who you ask. The concern is that no one know how much alcohol it takes to cause a problem for the fetus. That's why most doctors recommend abstaining completely. However, a friend of mine had 1-2 drinks a week throughout her pregnancy, and her baby is fine.

The real question is, is it worth the risk? For me (22 weeks), that answer is no!

I would say no. I had a small glass of wine for my graduation and thank god my baby was fine. Some people say very little is fine some say not at all. Your decision but just know some states can jail you for being a risk to your unborn child. There was a case in my neighborhood. But she was an alcoholic. Good luck to you

To answer this question, ask yourself if you would give a baby an alcoholic beverage in a bottle. The answer should be "No" since anything the mother ingests is directly delivered to the baby via the placenta.

Women who smoke or drink during pregnancy really irk me.

Drinking anything alcoholic during pregnancy is strictly off limits, as well as smoking and some medications.

yes sorry to say..no alcohol..you can talk to your doctor if you want about red wine ..but for the most part..the most damaging as a drug..is having an alcohol syndrom baby..it is the sever in most cases..as the first 2 trimersters are for the development of mind and body..at the very end though your doctor may suggest a drink or 2 a night to help your body ready for delivery..it relaxes you...

Some people say you can have a glass of wine here and there. But I wasnt even comfortable with a sip. There's no benefit for your baby, but instead there's a huge risk if you have too much.

I chose to have none. I didnt want to be responsible for harming my baby for the sake of having a glass of wine.

it is only off limits if you want a healthy baby! if you want to play the lottery with your kids health, then sure go ahead and drink some and cross your fingers!

obviously i am against people drinking while pregnant, i have seen too many sad cases of babies with FAS.

No alcohol for the entire pregnancy or during time while your breastfeeding. Drinking alcohol beverages can cause harm to the unborn child...the extent is unknown....so, why risk it?
