There's no reason why you can't call to follow up. If your interview was Thurs, call them tomorrow or Wed and let them know that you were wondering what the timeline is, if there was anything else you might do or if they need any other information. Also, you can reiterate that you remain very interested. My personal rule of thumb is keep calls short and wait 3-4 days (or up to a week) in between calls.

The people interviewing you have many work projects besides hiring someone. It's easy for them to get distracted by other tasks. So there's no harm in checking back to remind them. After a few days it makes sense to get back in touch - politely - to ask if they need any further information and when you are likely to hear back from them. Even if you don't end up with the job - act professionally at all times. You never know when you might encounter these people again - never burn a bridge. And good luck!

I would wait a few days for them to get back to you and then call the most senior person you interviewed with. It should be a polite inquiry like, "I just wanted to check in with you and see if there's anything else you require from me. I'm also available at your convenience to come in and meet with other people." If the Secretary asks if you wan to leave a voice mail, do it. You can also send a letter - not an email, as that demonstrates that you took the time to do that instead of the convenience of "lobbing" in an email.

Write a thank you letter right away, explaining that you understand the position (make specific references to the responsibilities) and feel that you are the right person because . . . . you are available at their convenience to discuss the position further. You need to show that you are the "answer" to their problem (the open position).

You can fax, or drop off to get it there quickly.

I interview a great deal. The face-to-face interview is great to get a feel for personality, and verbal communication skills. The thank you letter is equally as important, showing that you can communicate effectively in writing.

Good luck!

You should send a letter of thank you for the interviewee for taking time out in there busy schedule to discuss the position the same day via e-mail. (that is if you got their business card) Also mentioning that you feel that you would a good candidate for the position. Along with giving your contact phone number in the last paragraph stating that you look forward to hearing form the in regards to the position. (then you make them accountable to answer / if they don't then you have to think would you have been happy as their employee)

I agree with some of the previous answers. Send the thank you card asap and definitely call to follow up.

Send them a thank you note right away ... even if that means dropping it off in person. Wait a few days to see if they call you.

You should definitely call them and thank them for taking the time to meet with you. In addition, you should send them a thank-you card so that your name is foremost in their mind.
