We shall not teach them nearly as much as we shall learn from them.

We shall teach out children what we as parents feel is appropriate.
Hopefully we shall make good decisions about what to teach them but inevitably we shall make some bad decisions and cause some confusion.
We shall try to do our best and deal with our mistakes as we become aware of them.
In my humble opinion!

I taught my son to question everything coming out of the mouth of any adult - I had to actually explain to him to stop questioning his mother, so he has stopped and trusts her now.
Teach your children to question adults, have them repeat back what adults say to you, to fix the stupid crap that is spewed so often.
Children are ALWAYS LISTENING. So make sure you talk to them and review what they have heard. It will be scary - as you may not know they are in the room, or in the next room. But their little ears pick up everything.
Listen and explain - don't preach to your children.
Oh, try teaching them that family will be there for them - unconditionally - like GOD is, and DO it, LIVE it, not just say it.

to listen to the world with with all their senses, to hear others with their hearts
to cherish their lives, and the wisdom they have to offer
to be strong, and to teach a man to fish, if someone needs a hand up
to trust their inner knowings, and believe beyond the obvious
to look into the eyes of the ones they love, and tell them in every way they can how much love is there for them

Creation stories from all parts of the world. Teach consistent Courage and kindness, allowing them to trust Teach that we are born innocent, that we are born of love, into love, and we can extend this Love with our conscious awareness of our actions........Teach creative spontaneity, self expression through the arts, music, dance. Teach freedom from guilt, shame, blame, through nurturing the young silly hearts by giving them your time and share in their delights as they giggle and frolic Teach them logic, reason, and how to question for themselves. Teach them to see the ever changing wonders of Nature and how we learn about ourselves from Mother Nature. Teach that death is a transition, much like the catepillar that spins it's own crysalis, and emerges from it's slumber a beautiful creature in flight.......Teach patience......That's good for starters....
Peace

none, teach them not to hate people, teach them not to kill people, tell them to accept peoples differences, teach them to be honest, and respectful, teach them that people wont agree with them and that its ok, teach them not to steal or cheat people, teach them to love instead of condemn, teach them to take responsibility for their actions, and that their actions are their own, no one elses. If they decide a Religion is right for them, they will do so when they are old enough to make their own decisions, but as a child, just teach them right from wrong, to love and accept everyone despite our differences.

If possible, teach them the art of 'learning' and then the rest would follow, according to their choices, inclinations etc.

More than the Golden rule, we should teach our children the Platnium rule: Treat others how THEY want to be treated.
