Some would say that American pop culture, combined with the mass media has manifested itself as its own sort of "religion." Do you believe this to be true? Why or why not?

yes, anything u put before God is an idol; when u worship an idol u are not worshipping God. The media definetly has a role in pulling peole away from a true relationship with God almighty.

No, I do not think that is true. Some people occupy themselves with pop culture and mass media excessively, but that's a different thing than religious devotion. Just because someone likes TV, doesn't mean they think it's divine.

Some would say that and it's so. anything that a person is trained by and tries to look like is idolizing that thing. Even the main focus of conversation proves that it occupies your mind, what you bow to [emulate] is your god/s.
Religion is witchcraft and hated by God. While Jesus freed us from religion and gave us life and life abundantly. You, need to understand that religion is something you do/say/think religiously, while knowing Jesus is how you live life.
We are to have the mind of Christ Jesus and be conformed to Him. Do Justice and Righteousness and walk humbly with our God.

Yes, I believe that. Immigrants who come here are expected to "convert" to the American way of life. Our belief in the American way of life is spiritual. Just look at our holiday like Thanksgiving and the 4th of July. They are like holy days. We sing patriotic song like they are hymns to America
