It depends on the postion and employer. Some require you know the program you will be working with others may just require a specific typing speed. It usually comes down to if the employer is willing to take the time to train you or do they expect you to do it all on your own.

Some - mostly requires typing skills. But if you are looking at "opportunities" for data entry work on your home computer from Internet sites advertising work available, be aware that 99.9% of them are scams designed to separate you from your money, not to pay you.
