What reason do you think they have for not embracing Jesus.

Thanks for your answers folks but what I was sort of looking for the reason that christians give for none belief in others. I was wondering if any of them would come up with the LACK OF EVIDENCE point cause they seem to totally ignore it no matter how many times you scream it in their faces.

Christians only represent just 18% of the population of the earth,so what makes you think Jesus is right above all others?
The reason I am atheist is because for me God does not exist...Why should it...

M opinion as an atheists is that i cant believe that if GOD exists that he would want the world to be how it is today, the things that happen today and everyday can be so terrorable that if their is a God, it makes you wonder a good enough reason for putting people through 'hell' (sorry the only word i could use for some things that happen). It gives us hope to believe in something but it also means that we dont have to run our lives thinking would God approve, why am i here, what plan did he have for me when i was created. Its hard to understand why terrible things happen, when you look at the saying that everything happens for a reason. There are an number of things that are going through my head at this very moment that are just plan unexcusable, and that no one should have to endure, for an reason. This is the reason that I dont believe! Cos embracing 'Jesus' would simply break my heart, becuase of the things that i have seen heared and witnessed first hand!

I'm not a christian, i'm an athiest, but I just wanted to tell my reasons because its an interesting question. I was brought up catholic and have only recently managed to unlearn everything conciously and subconciously drummed into me from a very small age. Its very difficult to lose the comfort blanket that is faith I accept that, but I am a much happier athiest than I was a catholic. And not because I have hurled myself into hedonistic moral abandon! Moral goodness and athiesm are not mutually exclusive christians may be shocked to hear. Rational free thinking is very liberating when you finally lose the threat of the great surveillance system in the sky. People are a product of their time and environment. For example, some of the great ancient civilisations used to worship the sun. And its easy to understand why if you have no knowledge of the wider universe. But this belief was based purely on a lack of understanding. I suppose ultimately science answers far many more questions than blind faith could ever do. The god of the gaps is getting smaller and smaller.

Its simple, they do not have the faith to believe in Jesus or God because they have either not felt or not recognized God's presence in their life. I can see where they are coming from with that, they want some kind of personal experience or tangible evidence before they believe, which is reasonable enough to me. I was an atheist for a while, then I became a Catholic

I will unite all religions and those who are atheists. I note that atheists are not necessarily without religion. Sorry for that. How will I do it? With one simple question.

Where did it come from?

Keep using the answer of the previous question and ask again and again.
Christians will never be able to explain where God came from.

At least I know that my religions (yes I follow 2 atheistic religions) started somewhere as a way of life, and neither of them have had to explain where it all comes from.

Christianity calls upon creation of everything. I look to the Church to answer my question, THEN think about bringing me back to the fold.

Mostly, because they base their lives off of what actually has some proof behind it rather than just a book full of hopes. Also, you have never seen a crusade led by or a war started by a group of atheist.

because they can read... they can count... and they realise that the bible is the best work of fiction in the library...

why does it seem wrong to just not believe that one man changed the plant... and performed mirricles... its rediculous, and religion was the first form of controlling the masses through FEAR...

all the worst things (wars, etc) that happen on the planet are a resultof religious arguments, that seems like a problem...

As an atheist, I'll tell ya. I'm actually concerned with knowing the truth, unlike "Christians," who only want confirmation of their fairy-tale. It's my belief that self-delusion is never a good thing, even if it provides a sort of dutch courage for the morally and spiritually weak.
