Do you think this would be a good plan for the US immigration problem??

These are the steps I believe the USA should take to resolve the immigration problem:

1. Pass an amnesty law that would give citizenship to most of the illegal immigrants already in the US. Some of the requirements could be:
-Know how to speak and write at least the basics of English
-Have at least a high school education in whatever country or be a current student in the United States.
-Know the history of the United States
-Have no criminal record in any country [[backround check]]

2. Deport all the leftover people that did not meet the requirements

3. SECURLEY close the border in a way that would not allow any more immigrants to come in at all.

RESULT- Only truly hardworking illegals will be in the US. Everyone in the USA would be happy. [[The immigrants will be citizens, and the people who were already citizens wouldn't have any more immigrants coming in the country to worry about.]] PROBLEM RESOLVED

I also think some illegal aliens should not be called criminals. What about the children who were brought here by force? I'm sure their parents did not ask them for their opinions. In fact, some were just babies at the time. These children grew up not knowing a country other than the USA, and now they have to be called criminals? Even worse for them, be deported to a country they do not know anything about? They surely love this country as much as any citizen does.

Nope. The borders must be secured first,otherwise it will be a never ending cycle of illegals coming in. No amnesty for anyone here illegally,they should apply just like everyone else that wants to come here. Lawbreakers should not be rewarded with a prize.

Somewhat agree, but somewhat disagree. You forget that many have been living here illigally for years and have not paid taxes, health care, etc. They need to pay the hardworking Americans (and other LEGAL immagrants) back for their stay here in the USA! They need to follow all rules that Americans must follow and most of all apply for citizenship.
I say deport all immagrants that are not full citizens or applying for citizenship or here on a work visa.... the ones who snuck in or did not go home after their Visa expired should be kicked out with the boot still in their A33. No second try, they had their chance!
I'm all for Immagration, but do it as our forefathers did - Proudly. Learn the language, and follow the laws of this country!!

Disagree completely with you. Deport all the criminal illegal aliens. Let them apply to legally come to this country. Simple. Criminal activity should not be rewarded in any way, shape or form. Ohhh, also, if the illegal has assets in this country, whatever it is, it should be confiscated because it was gained illegally.
