I mean from what I understand, they do not believe Jesus Christ is lord. They just believe he is a man, son of god, and a prophet.
Muslim's also believe Jesus was a prophet, same as Mormons and JW.. does that make them christian? I didn't think so.
So why do mormons, and jw's get grouped with christians?

Catholics are christians, silly.. they believe Jesus is god..... just like 98% of all other christian denominations.
Mormons, and JW's don't believe Jesus is god, they believe he is a prophet.... (which the Muslims' also believe)....
So what makes them part of the christian faith?

I actually studied with both Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons.
I know according to watchtower.. Jesus Christ is not considered god, which other christian religions do.
I know according to mormon, Jesus is part of a godhead, (which is not to much unlike the trinity). But he is a man and a prophet, and there are other living prophets.

Yes, Jehovah's Witnesses are Christians according to the biblical use of the word.
Sadly, trinitarians repeatedly pretend that Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christian. Trinitarians use an artificial, trinity-specific definition of the term "Christian" which excludes anyone who does not believe that Jesus is God Himself, rather than the Son of God. Interestingly, pagans in the first century pretended that Christ's followers were Atheists(!) because the Christians had a somewhat different idea from the pagans about the nature of God.
Jehovah's Witnesses teach that no salvation occurs without Christ, that accepting Christ's sacrifice is a requirement for true worship, that every prayer must acknowledge Christ, that Christ is the King of God's Kingdom, that Christ is the head of the Christian congregation, that Christ is immortal and above every creature, even that Christ was the 'master worker' in creating the universe! Both secular dictionaries and disinterested theologians acknowledge that Jehovah's Witnesses are a Christian religion.
The Trinitarian arguments are intended to insult and demean Jehovah's Witnesses, rather than to give a Scripturally accurate understanding of the term "Christian".
In fact, the bible most closely associates being "Christian" with preaching about Christ and Christ's teachings. Review all three times the bible uses the term "Christian" and note that the context connects the term with:
"declaring the good news"
'teaching quite a crowd'
'open eyes, turn from dark to light'
"uttering sayings of truth"
"persuade"
"keep on glorifying"
(Acts 11:20-26) [The early disciples of Jesus] began talking to the Greek-speaking people, declaring the good news of the Lord Jesus... and taught quite a crowd, and it was first in Antioch that the disciples were by divine providence called Christians.
(Acts 26:17-28) [Jesus said to Paul] I am sending you, to open their eyes, to turn them from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God... Paul said: “I am not going mad, Your Excellency Festus, but I am uttering sayings of truth and of soundness of mind. ...Do you, King Agrippa, believe the Prophets? I know you believe.” But Agrippa said to Paul: “In a short time you would persuade me to become a Christian.”
(1 Peter 4:14-16) If you are being reproached for the name of Christ, you are happy... But if he suffers as a Christian, let him not feel shame, but let him keep on glorifying God in this name
So why do anti-Witnesses try to hijack the term "Christian" and hide its Scriptural implications? Because anti-Witnesses recognize that it is the preaching work that makes it clear that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are by far the most prominent followers of Christ:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded

You are very mistaken. Mormons don't believe in the Trinity- we believe in the Godhead. The Godhead consists of three separate beings, united in purpose.
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Being so, He is a God. We don't believe that he was a prophet, Moses, Adam and Noah are prophets, Jesus is a God. He is a different individual than God the Father. He is God, the Son.
We worship Jesus- He is the head of our church.
Since we do believe in Jesus Christ and strive to be like him, we are Christians.
Edit***
Matt B. Needs to get his facts straight.
1. Utah was not even a state when the Mormons settled there. Really at that time, it was not even part of the USA. The Mormons settled in the Salt lake Valley in 1847 - Utah was not granted statehood until 1896.
2. Joseph Smith Jr. Never lived in Utah. He was murdered by a mob while the Mormons still lived in Nauvoo, Illinios.
3. The United States has always believed in Freedom of Religion- it is guaranteed in the Constitution. Any action taken by any state or government against Joseph Smith or the Mormons, because they did not like the teachings, was and still is Unconstitutional. People may have thought him to be a heretic, but he still had a right in America, to believe the way he did, and people had and still have a right to follow those teachings- That is unless you don't think the Constitution applies to ALL American Citizens.

We DO NOT consider Jesus Christ a Prophet or a man. He is the only begotten Son of God, and our Savior and Redeemer. He came to earth to teach us by example. He was the only perfect man to walk upon this earth, and He died for our sins so that we may be saved. A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ who believes in Jesus Christ and follows His teachings. It does not say any other specifics that you mainstream Christians have added to make it look like JW and Mormons are not Christians. Just get over it and get a life, and accept the fact that not all Christians have the same exact beliefs.

Muslims aren't part of the Christian faith. JWs and Mormons are considered Christians because they believe in and "follow Christ." I, personally, think they are not true Christians. JWs believe Jesus was Michael the arch-angel.... Mormons believe God had a God; and that he used to be a man and earned his way to be God. They also believe they can earn their way to become God of their own universe. They believe they can baptize themselves for someone else (a dead person, for instance) and have them saved.

And let me guess; you never asked a JW did you?
Of course we are Christians. We seem to be the only ones who actually follow what Jesus told his followers to believe and to do. Yes Jesus is lord. He is the first born son of God. The only one personally created by God.
Due to his fine work in heaven and later on earth, always his first priority was bringing praise to Jehovah's name. Now he has been elevated to second position only to Jehovah in the universe. This is not playing second banana to anybody.
Following Jesus Christ==CHRISTian. Get it?
We follow what he said to do in the Bible and only what the Bible says. We don't include any of the beliefs of men. Most of the so-called Christian religions jump at the chance to include any belief having nothing to do with the Bible or outright opposed by the Bible.
When the Bible says at Eccles. 9:5,10 that the dead have no ability to fell ANYTHING or think anything, what does that mean for religions that believe the dead are in torment or bliss? Or know what the living are doing and can communicate with the living? Ezek. 18:4 goes on to include the soul dies. How do the religions measure up to this?
We declare ourselves true Christians and by our beliefs prove to be so. The question all of you must answer is, Does yours prove to be true Christian or false?

Both Mormons and Jehovahs Witnesses have similar values to Christianity. It's just that Mormonism branched off when a Church reject decided to make up a story about "God revealing Himself to Joseph Smith." And people bought into this story. Most states declared Joseph Smith to be a heretic and an enemy of Christianity, but Utah allowed Smith to continue what he was doing. That is why the mormon center of the United States is in Utah. If you do even the slightest amount of actual research though, it's easy to find out that Joseph Smith was full of crap. As for Jehovah's Witnesses, they believe that only 144,000 people will go to heaven...which I don't know WHY they would be recruiting more people to their church under that pretense... I mean, by their own terms, they are in... but if we all join them, they might not have a spot in heaven..... again.... they teach based upon the Bible, but not from it. The Bible never says that there is a limit on the number of people who will be in heaven.
The base of the Bible unites the three groups, but the JW and the Mormons are deviants who have followed an individual... much like Jim Jones and the Kool-Aid.

Yeah because both of them believe and worship Jesus... but I think that JWs only focus on God himself. Well, I am a Mormon and we are Christians because we believe in Jesus, that he God's son, our brother that died for our sins in the cross so we could be saved. No one can go to the Father if it is not by Jesus. Hmm... Jesus, God and the Holy Spirit are different, so no trinity. we have faith and we believe and worship God our Heavenly Father and his beloved son Jesus ^_^
[edit]: we (Mormons) don't believe that Jesus is a prophet, we believe that Jesus is God's begotten son and our savior.

Fundies say that Mormons and JW's are not Christians and will burn in the fiery pits of hell....of course Mormons and JW's probably say the same about protestants/Catholics.
Everyone spends a lot of time bad mouthing each other...when there is a lot of good that organized religions could be doing...if they did the work of God...feeding the poor, caring for the hungry, widows and orphans....
Which church do these things of God...that is where the truly Godly people will be.

we "Mormons" believe that God is our Heavenly Father, and Jesus Christ is His Son, our Redeemer, and all that stuff. he is not a man.
now, in response to no1home2day's answer: we believe that Christ is God's Begotten Son, his actual son that he had with a wife. but we are not his literal children. we are his spirit children. he didn't have us, he created us. he has ONE wife, not multiple. and he did live as a man once, and after his life, he became God. and we can become gods after this life, yes. i cant argue against that other scripture, cause im not that smart. but if you ask a member in your neighborhood or area or something, they might know, or could find out for you.
