This is a two-parter. First, I don't really like the traditional 'wedding band'. What do you think of anniversary bands in lieu of reg. ones? This is the kind I like

Part 2-My fiance is also a bit 'untraditional'. Which is fine, I want him to like his band, he has to wear it, so it's absolutely his choice, and I'm not going to tell him no. I know they won't be worn 'together' but wanted to get opinions on his, since it looks very different from mine.

This is the one he picked, he seems to have his heart set on two tone titanium, what do you think of our choices together?

Well for a woman that ring you showed really is the traditional band. Most women pick a ring with some diamonds. The one you picked is (very similar to mine) better than an eternity band because it is easier to size. Chances are great you will need it resized at some point in your life.
Titanium is a great choice--very light weight. Also these 2 rings will only be next to each other during the photo shoot on the wedding day. There is no reason why they have to match at all. In fact, the two of you aren't the exact same in personalities so it only makes sense that the rings you prefer aren't exactly alike. You will be wearing this ring for the rest of your life so it is very important that you both get one you have your heart set on. He needs to love it if you want him to wear it.
However I think those two go very well together. They both have the same platinum/white gold. They both have a "striped" effect--yours with diamonds and his with the black titanium. I think they match very well.

I've known several people who have gotten anniversary bands instead of a "traditional" wedding band. I think it looks beautiful!
I also think your fiance's choice is great. The ring is very eye-catching.
I wouldn't worry about the rings not matching. It is important that you each like your own ring. Seeing the two rings together will just reflect each of your personalities. It's like a relationship, two different things coming together to create something beautiful!

People get so focused on what is going to take place the day of the wedding they forget that they have a life and a marriage to deal with after that day. If YOU are happy with the rings then get them. It doesn't matter what they look like, as long as you remember what they stand for, that is what makes a Wedding band beautiful!!

I think anniversary bands are find in lieu of a traditional wedding band. Do what makes you happy. As far as your fiance's ring goes, let him pick what he wants. He's the one that has to wear them. Your rings don't have to match.

Wedding bands today can be whatever you want them to be. I know someone who has a black wedding band. They are whatever you are comforable wearing the rest of your life. My fiance and I are getting married in September, and his band doesn't match mine at all. His is titanium, and he got my name engraved on the top for something different. The titanium bands are a great idea for guys because they are indestructable. They can never get ruined, and they are really inexpensive.

I think that you should get what suits you and what you feel comfortable wearing for the rest of your life. My wedding band is a diamond eternity ring. My fiance has yet to pick his, but is considering a ring that has his family's coat of arms engraved on it. I think your rings compliment each other, as I'm sure you do.

My ring has a 2.5 carat emerald cut blue topaz with princess cut diamonds channel set in the band and was not meant to have a wedding band. My husband's wedding ring is black titanium (www. e-weddingbands.com). They don't match at all, but it's what we wanted.
Get what you want and who cares what anyone else thinks!

If you know what you like, why do you care what anyone else thinks??? My wedding band has diamonds in it much like the one in your picture, as do the bands of many of my friends. You're not going to be less married if you have a "non-traditional" band - stop overthinking, and get the ring you like.

He loves the hoop I selected, and he wears it proudly every day. You might additionally ask your hubby-to-be if he has a choice.
