They hate everyone because they are envious. They feel so much guilt and jealousy over the pleasures the free experience.

I can only speak from my experience... I grew up a fundamentalist. All I had was church, no music, no movies, no life- just fundamentalism, fundie chruch and fundie chruch school. I could quote the bible inside and out and learned not to ask questions about what you are supposed to believe, just follow blindly. When I made the 'mistake' of asking questions then I was being 'rebellious.' Then I sat up and said, if that is what life is supposed to be then I don't want to live it. I choose not to be like this, and if I am criticized so be it, but I will not live how someone dictates, but how I dictate. Now I don't give a rat crap what people think. I am not narrow minded. I think Jesus Christ was a great teacher, and the son of God- the same as I am the daughter of God...and everyone else. I have found that those fundamentalist narrow minded people are the most hypocritical, judgmental, hateful people I have ever met. That is precisely why I think on my own. That is why I have chosen to keep my mind open and think against mainstream. It is very easy to allow someone else to do the thinking for you, which is why fundamentalism is popular, however, if you do your reading, it is exactly what CHRIST was against. Jesus Christ was not a fundie.

In Biblical times the church was run by the Pharisees. Now the Pharisees thought they were perfect and free from the stain of sin. Because of this they sat in judgment over everyone and attempted to shut the doors of the temple in order that no unclean soul should ever enter. It was Christ who spoke against this exclusiveness and scorned the Pharisees for their judgmental behavior. In turn, it was the Pharisees who ordered Christ's crucifixion.
Not much has changed today. The biggest violators of Christ's teachings can ordinarily be found in your friendly neighborhood church, throwing rocks at homosexulas, pregnant teens, liberals and anything else that might appear more interesting to people than a fundamentalist preacher screaming about hellfire and damnation.
Harry Potter is a book about sorcery and witchcraft. The church will immediately jump on that bandwagon because they fear people... children especially... are stupid and will take on an interest in sorcery and witchcraft if they read the books or see the movies. This is simply idiotic. Kids have an active imagination and are prone to fairy-tale like stories where an obvious good is pitted against an obvious evil. I was into "Star Wars" when I was a kid. I never attempted to use the force however. I was smart enough to know it was fiction, and I was a pretty stupid kid.
As far as Bono, although most churches today hail Bono as an important leader in Christianity many of them refuse to listen to anything he says because he is a rock star. They feel (and have for years) that rock and roll is a sinful music and anyone who partakes in it is a sinner. Bono has never been in the public eye for being a drunk, a druggie, an oversexed pervert or anything other than a philantropist who works effortly to help those who cannot help themselves. But because he sings rock music and dresses like a rock star, he's evil and doesn't speak any truth. It's legalism, it destroys any personal relationship with God and it's about as anti-Christian as anything.
I agree with you that Marilyn Manson is an idiot and just needs to give it up already, but my heart goes out to him because I feel he's been hurt by this hypocricy. Alice Cooper was the same way in his youth until an actual Christian showed him what true Christianity was. He is now a youth minister and very active in church.
There are churces out there where one can be truly spiritually fed and there are Christians out there who are honest-to-God Christians and not hate-filled hypocrites. They're hard to find and if you are fortunate, you will discover their likes under the bullshit the rest of the fundamentalist world dumps all over the place. My advice to you is to pray that you find some decent Christians to befriend you and protect you against these liars who spread hatred and intolerance in the name of a loving God.

I don't hate anyone, much less "everyone". On the contrary, not only do I want all to be saved, but I believe that acceptance of salvation must be voluntary. I don't even want a theocracy, for that matter. I do sharply disagree with some people, but then again, you apparently disagree with fundamentalists. I also believe that sometimes love requires to call attention to what we see as error in the world (but in a loving manner). On the other hand, you seem to think you should do so as well, at least as far as fundamentalism is concerned.

I don't think it is because they are jealous or have guilt. I think it is because they strongly feel that they are right. . . .and that everything that is not like them is from the devil. . . it doesn't represent the love of Christ very well.
I always feel that the way you live your life is much more important than what you go screaming and shoving down someones throat. Actions speak much louder than words.

no, christians are just stating what is right and wrong and anytime a christian says that everyone freaks out and says we're hating on them because they're so insecure and don't understand. Anyone who says christians are hateful people have never actually listened to what a christian has to say try listening before you start talking.

Fundamentalists fear everyone...because they are not strong in their faith...and anything that does not go direclty along with their rigid, narrow views shakes their faith....so, their guard goes up, and they insult and hate anyone that makes them look bad.
