What are your personal or religious beliefs regarding contraception. Do you think your religious or personal beliefs regarding this should apply to others.

If you favor birth control, do you think the gov't should require couples to limit the number of children they have, and require that abstinence, sterilization, or birth control be used to achieve this end ? Would you favor forced abortions to enforce this ?

If you are against using birth control, do you think the government should make it illegal ? If so, how would go about enforcing a ban on contraceptives ?

Personally, I believe that birth control (preventative only) is just fine. I serve a mighty God and if He wants me to have a baby, there is nothing I can do to stop it!

I don't think the government has any rights to my life, as per how many children I have... nor do I believe that abortion is EVER right.... especially as a 'birth control' option.

I believe that abstinance is a good thing when not married. and sterilization is fine when you are 'done' having kids, by your own choice... but never should the government make those decisions for you.

My personal beliefs are that birth control is good, and important. to give a great example i was with a guy for four years. during which we had a lot of sex. i was miserable with him and eventually left him. if birth control hadn't been used, theres a good chance i might have 2-3 kids by now, and i'm glad i don't.

i think everyone should be allowed to make up their own mind. but, even people who dont agree with birth control use some form of it, such as 'timing' (picking a time of the month to have intercourse, that you are at your least fertile), withdraw before ejaulation (which doesnt always work since during intercourse men release small amounts of sperm, aptly named 'precum' and various other methods.

i dont think the government should limit couples in the number of children allowed, but i do wish, that everyone was required to go on birth control until they can prove themselves capable of raising children, through say, parental classes and an exam. way too many people get pregnant and then realize they cant afford a child. there are far too many people out there with far too many children that aren't wanted.

i pray to the gods that the government wont ever make it illegal. because if theres one thing i've learned, it's that women find a way. if there isn't an abortion clinic to help them, walmart sells hangers, it sounds awful, and it is. which is why it shouldn't be encouraged by outlawing birth control and abortion.

i just realized i missed one of your questions. No. the government shouldn't encourage anything. they shouldn't take it away, and they shouldn't force abstinance or sterilization on us.

There are too many people in the world for every couple to have a baby every time they have sex....
so I favor birth control. But I do not think forced abortions or anything like that should be necessary. People have the right to have children...however, there are too many people on the earth already. Perhaps, eventually, there should be some law limiting the number of children a couple can have.

Young Thespian,
I am a Simple Christian but I see nothing wrong with contraceptives. I do not agree with abortion or with the pill to force a termination of pregnancy. I feel that is MuRdEr, personally. I do not believe that the government has any business controlling the number of children or the use of contraceptives at all. I have a strong desire to get into politics every time I see abortionists calling them a "woman's right". MuRdEr is just that MuRdEr. You can not call a snake a snake by any other name. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

It's the only way to go if you enjoy sex like I do. Having children because God says you should is the silliest damn thing I ever heard of. I love Children but there should be limits. China has the right idea.
As for the government they are for birth control. Always have been and always will be think God.

Personally - PBG practices absence. I'm not going to run around with children before I get my degree! Oh no. The only way to be protected, is to turn down the sausage.

I believe 2 people can have as many children as they want. If the children are RAISED right, then the child will give back to society. Education will be a high point on my child's life, and the government should have no control over how many children a person can have. (COMMUNISM!)

I dont think the government should make birth control illegal because there are some people who think it is ok to have pre-martial sex. (which is fine), and its better they stay protected when subjecting themselves to fleshly sins. (oops, my Orthodox is coming out)

I use birth control because I don't want to have 50 children. I have two children and might decide to have 1 more. . . .but that is it . . .no more. I do not ask what religion thinks about the birth control. . .I just use my head. . .I don't want tons of children and I want to have sex with my husband, hence birth control works for me =) and I am a Christian and attend an Assembly of God church.

I am for birth control, for me. It's just a personal choice which no one including the government should try and decide for you. I feel the same with abortion, for me I wouldnt do it unless I was raped or I or the baby would die during birth. Its a personal decision only, Im thankful that I can make those decisions for myself.

As an opponent of the government getting involved in my personal life, I think this is a decision that should be made on a personal basis.

That being said, overpopulation is (and increasingly will be) the most fundamental problem facing the survival of humanity.

I'm all for it. There are too many unwanted babies out there already. I for one don't want children, and if I did I'd adopt. There are a lot of personal and other reasons for all that, but I don't think it goes against anything said in the Bible.

I don't think the government should have anything to say about it though. (Christian)
