that they(IRS) had "never received" your tax return?

I think it is quite convenient that my father's return was received (he owed) and my tax return (waiting for a refund) wasn't received...Even though they were sent in the same package.

Yes....of course i saved a copy. (Im not that stupid)

When the accountant sends it back to us, we sign it and put it in the mail. Thank you for the advice-- I will never put them in the same envelope again.

Why would you send 2 returns in the same package?

Odds are that caused the problem>

Your mistake.

You never send multiple returns (even if they were for the same person) in the same package. The ones in back always get lost.

The IRS is constantly losing paperwork. Remit a copy of your tax return along with the Wage Earning Statement (You did make a copy, didn't you?), also in the attached letter, explain to them what you have told us, even though it will make little difference to them, you at least told them of their ineptness.

Sounds like they put them together under his. Shouldn't send them in same package. They really do not worry about sending refunds.
