Holy to my cause? I would'nt call it that . I call it a choice. I grew up with a christian mother and an atheist father, talk about confusing ! I went down both paths and back again. I found being a christian brought me the peace and stablity I needed. If someone asks I share my view , but I never try to shove my "faith" on any one. I just try to live the with as much joy and peace as I can. I'm greatful for freewill!!!

There's no faith involved. Atheism is based on empirical, observable reality and rational thoughts.

I understand the misconception, as a believer you'd find it hard to understand what life is like without faith.

I could care less who's atheist or who believes in the Celestial Teapot, but I am personally here to promote education and knowledge where there is an absence.

In the USA, 20% of people honestly believe the sun and stars revolve around the Earth! 45% Believe humans and dinosaurs co-existed, less than 1/3 of the US population knows that DNA is involved in heredity, 90% don't know what radiation is, and most Americans don't know what molecules are!

No wonder we're uniquely religious as a civilized nation, we're uniquely ignorant and stupid! Most people in my family are scientists, so I am here to help educate people and counter the distortions, fallacies and complete BS that religious people believe have merit.

Atheism is not a religion, it's a philosophy. It's called reason and common sense. I don't care how you believe and I have never tried to get anyone to join my way of thinking. I could care less what you think. The word holy has religious connotations and I do NOT believe in gods, worship, religion or the supernatural. Non-belief is not a religion.

Atheism is not a faith, like bald is not a hair color.

Personally, I like to imagine I am fighting to prepare the world for a better future -- a future free of religious superstition and irrational bigotry, a future where humanity can achieve its full potential.

Maybe we believe truth is important above all else!

Personally I like the intellectual brawls... even though I'm often times disappointed around here

How is atheism a religion? It is the lack of any religion - there are no set beliefs, except that we believe in no religion!

I have never tried to convert anyone to Atheism. I do not wish to do so. The only thing I promote is knowledge/education. I believe all faiths should be knowledgable not only about their beliefs but about others as well. I do feel very strongly about my beliefs but that doesn't make me 'religious'.

I don't think you have a valid point. No atheist here has ever tried to "convert" me. Like Southpaw said, it's about education and sharing ideas.

If speaking out against religious dogma impacting my life is a cause, color me guilty. But I don't try to convert. I only wanna see people choose atheism because their logic, reasoning and education takes them there.

I'm an atheist. I will state what I do not believe in any religion in accordance to their doctrine or practices. However, anyone who wants to practice what I don't believe in has every right to do so. I like being unique... I don't need others like myself around me.
