Do couples who marry in a Las Vegas chapel, just the 2 of them, not big reception, have a first dance? I mean they get married in a chapel, where do they have their first dance? My fiance and I are planning on getting married in Vegas this weekend. It will probably just be the two of us. And we just realized that what about our first dance? I suggested we just dance out in the street in front of Eiffel Tower or something. But what about the music?

some chapels do receptions, but you could choose a hotel chapel where there's a nightclub & then go to the club afterward - that would solve the reception issue! Order apetizers & PARTY! http://www.vegas.com/weddings/hotelchapels.html

I've always heard of a first dance as a feature at a reception. A number of people I know who were married in Vegas or the local courthouse had a reception (even just a very small one with immediate family) and had their 'first' dance there. But, if it's important to the two of you to have a 'first dance' that is special to you, then by all means dance by the Eiffel Tower, or in front of the chapel. It's what you want, not what everyone says 'should be done'

The chapel is where they get married. The first dance would be where ever the reception is. A lot of people have a reception back home after a destination wedding. If you don't have a reception--then you dont do any of the traditions like cake cutting, bouquet toss or first dance.

The First Dance is done at the reception. Are you having even a small reception? Bring a CD Player and do it there.

The New York New York has a piano bar inside and for a fee he'll play special songs. I think showing up in your dress and tux and dancing next to the piano would be so romantic.

We're getting married next month at the Mandalay Bay and having our reception at The Mix - it's a hotel restaurant & lounge high in the sky and they do small parties (and another in our suite, LOL!) Here's a link to the weddings page - http://www.mandalaybay.com/thingstodo/Weddings.aspx
