Well it can depend on whether you had a c-sec or vaginal birth. But I think 4-6 weeks is the norm.

Usually a woman bleeds for 6 weeks. I bleed for about 4 weeks after having my first son, and about 8 weeks after my second son. So, It can vary from woman to woman and pregnancy to pregnancy.

It varies...each woman is different. The "average" is 4-6 weeks, but I bled for nearly 10 weeks, stopped for two then started my first period. However, I did have a lot of unexpected health problems and had to have emergency abdominal surgery twice-once at five weeks postpartum and again at six weeks.

If you got birth control after you had the baby, it would prolong the bleeding depending on which one you have. I received the depo shot and I continued to bleed after my 6 week check-up.

It is different for everyone. I only bled for two weeks after my children. For some women it is shorter...or it could take longer than 40 days.

It's different for every woman. I bled for 6 weeks and my mom and aunt said they only bled for 2 weeks. So I would expect 6 weeks and if it's less than that, you will be happy!!
Good Luck!

2-6 weeks is normal. Breastfeeding can shorten the duration as it encourages the uterus to contract quicker.
