It might be nice for you and your husband to be to pay for it, as a way of thanking your friends and family for helping out and taking part in your special day.

Is this instead of a reception or in addition?

If it is the reception, the brides family pays. If it is in addition, the bride and groom would pay as a thank you.

Of course that is just traditionally. Anyone who wishes can. My family did individual brunches while we were on the honeymoon. We flew out Sunday morning and the my in-laws too the rest of his family out to brunch and my parents had my family over for brunch.

Well I am not 100% sure , but I would imagine it would depend on who is comming. At my post wedding brunch it was just me, my husband, maid of honor, her boyfriend, best man, and one of the bridesmaids. We paid, we figured it would be nice after all they have done for us.

I don't think that there is etiquette on this, so I would use your judgement, if the family is willing to pitch in, great! If not, I would guess it would be up to you and your new hubby!

Good luck!
