I think it sounds fine.

Eh, I think there are better ways to say it. If he's in your life, and knows your situation, then I think he should know that you feel his pain. Maybe something more along the lines of showing that YOU are there for him, something more tangible than God. I'm not saying God won't help, but someone to hug and sympathize with means a lot too.
"I can definitely empathize with you, given my current situation. May God be with you and your family. You know that you can always come to me also; I'm here for you if you need me."

You've been in his life for 10 years. You should know how to communicate with him by now. If you meant what you wrote from your heart, that's all that matters. Just be yourself and don't use sentiment that is out of the ordinary for you. Sorry about your father's diagnosis. I'll say a prayer for his recovery.

Unless you have had someone close to you die, especially a parent (which I assume you haven't) I would not put 'I feel your pain', because you don't and never have. Get a new card and put "I'm here for you" or something. But definately don't keep the card.

I think it would be better just to write, "May God be with you and your family at this time." "I feel your pain" - even though it sounds like you mean well and you want them to understand that, just doesn't sound right.

That's fine - as long as your mom is also no longer alive. Not trying to sound mean, but if your mom is still alive, you can't even begin to "feel his pain", and I would leave that part out...

I would leave the "I feel your pain" part out of it. Sounds like a bad movie line.

I don't think it is corny. I am sorry for your father and for your ex's loss. What you wrote is touching and not corny. It's really nice of you.
