You are saved from spending eternity in Hell.
Eternal life is just that, living for eternity in the presence of God.

Remember that the Bible is looked at from a different language, two of them mainly?
The New Testament uses this word:
G4982 sozo -- pronounced: sode'-zo
from a primary sos (contraction for obsolete saos, "safe"); to save, i.e. deliver or protect (literally or figuratively): KJV -- heal, preserve, save (self), do well, be (make) whole.
As in:
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Eternal life is a state of being that a believer is promised. The main precept of a Christian is: If God says something, He keeps His word; He is trustworthy. Eternal life means that God will never go back on His word that those that believe in Him will live forever with Him: No more separation that we are subject to down here. So as Paul writes; "Oh Death, where is thy sting, Oh Grave where is thy victory. In other words, death is nothing, it is only a beginning to something better.

Some of christendom believe that once your saved your saved it does'nt matter if you sin anymore, when you die you'll got to heaven. The Bible doesnt say that your not saved until the day of armagedon comes, if you die before then you will be reserected good and bad people will be reserected to hear their judgement, thats when you'll know if your saved. Eternal life is living forever and ever, never growing old and dying. On this earth as a beautiful paradise, Look up these scriptures in your Bible, Here's the proof.
Revelation 21:3, 4
Revelation 5:9, 10; 20:4.
John 17:3.
Psalm 37:10, 11;
John 10:28, And I give them everlasting life, and they will by no means ever be destroyed, and no one will snatch them out of my hand
. (Acts 24:15; John 5:28, 29)

I've never looked into the Greek word behind "saved" but I remember one person once telling me that the word more closely means "made whole" than saved. If this is true, than being "made whole" would refer to Jesus entering into your life. You'll have to study that for yourself.
As for "eternal life," the Greek word is simply the adj. form of aiwn, a word that simply means age, often incorrectly translated in the KJV as world. So the adj. form of aiwn in combination with the Greek word zoe for life, means age-lasting life, or more clearly, life pertaining to a specific age. There are many theories concerning the meaning of this phrase. Some believe that the age that age-lasting life refers to is an allusion to the 1000 year reign mentioned in the book of Revelation that only the Christians will experience after resurrection. Rabbis spoke of a Messianic age that follows the end of the current age, and this is probably what Jesus was referring to.

1) Many people seem to think that "saved" simply means saved from Hell, but according to the Bible, the term "saved" actually means "saved from sin". In other words, the power of your addictions and bad habits over you have been broken, or at least weakened, so that you can achieve freedom from the bad behaviors that have kept you from being the pure and good person that you were born to be. This also results in avoiding Hell in the afterlife also, but that is a side effect of being freed from the Devil and his power over your thoughts.
2) Likewise, many people view "eternal life" as simply life after death, or life in Heaven forever with God after you physically die. It includes that, but "eternal life" also means that your life on Earth is more joyful, more fulfilling, and more meaningful overall.

1) What do you mean by being Saved?
Being saved is like being on the Titanic and understanding that it is doomed, and taking steps to get in a lifeboat.

2) What is eternal life?
Just as it reads, eternal (timelessness, forever, without end) life (quality of being). Opposite of eternal torment.

Saved from the wrath that God will send down on anyone who hasn't taken the gift of grace and sacrifice He sent in the form of His son. Because God is wholy and entirely good, anything bad / evil can not come into his presence.
Eternal life is spiritual. That gets a lot of people hung up, but everyone will bow down to the Father, and they can either do it in reverence or after God has broken their knees. You can either be thrown into the lake of fire which is just as eternal, only there is no mite of goodness, or you can enter under Jesus' blood into the eternal spiritual joy.

God created Adam for being his companion. He created the universe for man. but man sinned and God cannot tolerate sin because the result of sin is death. So He send his only son JESUS CHRIST to die on the cross which was SUPPOSED TO BEour punishment for sinning. He did that to save everyone who believes that "Jesus christ is the son of God and he died on the cross and rose again on the third day ".if YOU believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that jesus christ is lord then you will be saved if you do this then on a particular day when God comes you will be with him AND LIVE WITH HIM FOR ETERNITY . living for eternity means living forever. People can either live forever in hell or in heaven .for more info read the Bible.

Being saved means you've accepted God into your life. You will be a much happier person, and eternal life.....well you've got heaven or hell. When God sends fire to Earth the world will come to an end. If you have not accepted God into your life then you will burn eternally, in the fires of Hell. It is a reality. Heaven or Hell. Hell is full of mean, scary demons who will hate you forever, Heaven has a God who loves everyone and has mercy for everyone. Do you want to live in peace in eternity or burn in hell. Pray God loves you and will show mercy.
I'm only being truthful....it's in the bible
God Bless You

Saved is Salvation. Saved from death-not in eternal life; transformed, incorruptible, immortal, imperishable.
Eternal life does not have an ending.

I hope that your question is serious.
The Bible says that the wages of sin is death-which means that if you die and go before God and are found guilty of being a sinner then you will be seperated from God for eternity as punishment ( aka Hell). But because God loved you so much and did not want to see you suffer, he paid that penalty for you, by dying a horrible and brutal death. So, all you have to do is acknowledge that Jesus ( God in Human form) died for you and paid your debt for you, and then you are Saved from that penalty of sin.
2) Eternal life...Your spirit or soul will never die. Your physical body will pass away but who you are will remain. Heaven is an actual place where your spirit goes and lives forever with God, if you believe that Jesus paid that sin penalty. But if you refuse to believe that, your spirit goes to a place called Hell, where you experience terrible things and are seperated from God for eternity.
