Right now "Global Warming" is the theme but not everything we help the environment needs to be helping global warming.
Planting trees has a lot of benefit and is very important Keep doing it and promote it in your community. Even people don't believe global warming say anything against tree planting.

Most of our oxygen comes from the ocean and not trees. The ocean is in a horrible state itself, so I'm not sure planting trees would really help, but it wouldn't hurt. Trees are good!

In Sacramento County, SMUD gives away shaed trees for free. They have determined that if every person planted 1 tree, it would reduce over 10 million pounds of CO2 per year.

We don't need more oxygen, we need less carbon dioxide and other pollutants.

Therefore we need to switch from fossil fuels to geothermal power (nuclear isn't sustainable and we would soon run out of fissionable elements, plus it has additional risks).

Also decreasing the rate of deforestation would help, planting trees would be of some benefit but not nearly enough on its' own.

With increased CO2 in the atmosphere, trees and plants will increase on their own. It is a natural process that stabilizes these changes. The earth is not so fragile that puny mankind can send it into a tailspin to destruction. Planting trees may help the natural correction occur a little sooner.

the rate at which we are producing carbon dioxide exceeds the rate at which trees remove it from the air. It might help a bit to plant more trees but you could never plant enough trees to solve the problem.

I think that is a HUGE part of it because they not only give oxygen but absorb CO2 and provide shade. I honestly don't know if that would be enough though, if the pollution continues.

No, it's not THE answer. We can never plant enough trees to compensate for our ever-increasing greenhouse gas emissions. Planting trees is a step in the right direction, but we need to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions significantly too.

I do not think is the answer, but it will definitely help in re-crating a natural environment. Also we should plant trees to replace the ones we have cut throughout the centuries.

i think it is one piece to the puzzle. You have to do more than just plant a tree to see a difference. Look up ways you can make an impact
