I agree with you 200%....YES...
My Mom always said cursing only shows your ignorance...intelligent people can express themselves without it...I am 48 years old..and my husband and friends laugh at me sometimes, when, even when I get hurt...I do not curse...it takes a GREAT deal to get me to that point..and for me to cuss, it is not a CONCIENCE thing...I just don't feel the need to look ignorant and stupid and curse...especially in everyday life...and I HATE it when people do.....I am Southern, and as such, many men in my culture do excuse themselves if using a curse word in front of "ladies"....and I DO like to have doors opened for me...men to stand when I come into a room, walk on the street-side on a sidewalk..etc...etc...polite is just, well POLITE!
I agree that good grammar and MANNERS is learned at home...enforced in schools, and practiced by those who CARE.

Cussing? you never heard cussing until you hear these over the road semi drivers on the CB, channel 19. This is a public radio frequency used by women, men and children and there are no channels set aside for any group.
If there were no words starting with the letter "F" or the word "mother" these guys couldn't talk, as their vocabulary is so limited.

Yeah, it is kind of. I know it's pretty normal with our society (turn on the radio and some songs sound like: **** ****** ********* ***************************************************************)
But in a way it shows lack of intelligence. I mean, the person may be a genius, but if they can't think of any other adjective what does that say about their personality?
It is also very immature. Young people seem to have an obsession with "forbidden words" (aka our parents tell us not to use those words...) It's kinda sad when that obsession carries over into the older ages.
So yeah. Unexpected painful injury yeah. Argument... its disrespectful but their isn't anything anyone can really do about it. Everyday conversation... yeah pretty immature.

I don't necessarily find it immature - sometimes it's just the only way to get out what you really feel when there just aren't "nice" words to say it! I agree that a lot of people over-use cuss words, like it's just every-day language to them, and that gets to be a bit much. Otherwise - so long as they're watching their tongues around children and the like, let'er rip!

110% behind you. Cussing also demonstrates sheer ignorance and lack of knowing how to express one's self. You can blame Hollywood all you want, but such education begins in the home. Unfortunately, many parents give poor examples to their children as well. If only we could all make a concerted effort to be more gentleman/lady-like.

I am not immature, uneducated, or low class. Cussing has nothing to do with any of those things. I am educated, mature and in the upper class of society. However, sometimes there is just no other word to express my feelings other than the "F" word. If this is offensive to others, oh well. Don't cry to me about it.
If people choose to be offended by others' speech, I think they should go whine to their psychiatrist about it.
Thanks to free speech I can say what I want. Thanks to free thought, you can think what you want.

I feel the same as you too..It really is immature...Those who cuss all the time need to grow up and stop acting like a punk, you know...It's desrespectful to the person your saying it to and to yourself..It shows you have no respect for others around you...

yeah. I don't really care for cussing. It does get offensive at times, and I just wonder how it fits into what someone is trying to say.

I think it's a refuge for someone with a small IQ. Less educated, low class people are the ones who have the filthiest mouths.

I feel that it is immature but unfortunately it is something that is widely accepted within our culture. My feeling is that you should not use any words that you would not use when talking to your mother, your preacher or your young daughter
