Jeff Gordon was born in California and partly raised in Indiana. He has officially declared Vallejo, California as his hometown. If you look at the NASCAR programs and any memorabilia that has his hometown on it, it will say Vallejo, California.
Being someone who has lived in multiple States; Jeff can claim both and both can claim Jeff. Of course if I ever where to make it into NASCAR we'd all have a mess on our hands trying to figure out where I am from.

As everyone else had said, he was born and raised in Vallejo, CA. Move to Indiana at 14 because he couldn't run a sprint car in CA untill he was 16.

Born in California, but moved to Pittsboro, Indiana as a small child so that he could pursue racing (I think he was too young under California law to race anything but go-carts, but I could be mistaken).
