and that was it. If you said no I said "Thank you". I do not go door to door pushing my church but if I did it would be a simple "I am inviting you to visit my Church, thank you". I am the leader of our youth program (AWANA) and I am probably gonna visit the neighborhood and see if families have youth interesting to attending our program. My approach is going to be simple. I will tell them what I am promoting and if they are not interested I will say "Thank you" and move on. How do you feel about that?

I do not do door to door often..

I do however pass out flyers for things like our Children's day camp, Vacation Bible school and various other ministries.. I do prefer to speak to the person that belongs to the hand that I am placing the flyer in.. However I have the gift of Gab and talking comes very naturally to me... I have yet to have anyone slam a door in my face, or curse at me.. However.. If I were out promoting my youth program... I would try something like this

Hi, I am ______ from ____ Church how are you today? {People love when you converse with them before you talk Church with them, can be anything from football to shishkabobs...Pick something and strike up a conversation}
Then you go into the reason you came out to see them....

When you come up with...Hi I am ____ from _____Church let me tell you about what we are doing... No one wants a sales pitch thrown at them.. Don't pitch religion at them, religion is fake....

Jesus does not want you to have religion, he wants you to have a relationship.. Two completly different things..

I wouldn't have a problem with that. I would understand that you are simply trying to create an awareness about your program for those who are interested. I even understand going door to door as opposed to dropping off brochures. This way you are able to answer any questions and it presents a more welcoming introduction.
I am not Christian (I'm Pagan) and I have no problem with you trying to get people to attend your Church or group. I only get upset when people will not respect the fact that I am not interested or begin to tell me why what I believe is wrong. As long as it isn't being forced on me I have nothing against you doing what you have to in order to gain more followers. Although we do not believe in converting/recruiting people I don't feel that this is the same thing. This is simply making people aware of something so that they can make their own decision.

Dear cards fan,

The church age ended in 1988. I am sure you have not studied this but the Holy Spirit is no longer in any local congregation saving individuals... Satan, the man of sin, is now ruling in all the local churches (2 Thessalonians 2). The Great Tribulation is not physical in nature--it is spiritual. Satan ruling in the churches means that no one can be saved there regardless of the accuracy of the preaching! Im Matthew 24:15, 16 and Revelation 18:4 God tells the true believers (the saved) to get out of the churches. Read Ezekiel 9 which gives a spiritual view of what is going on there.

Google my sources for more info.

If any stranger determined to wake me up within the core of the night time, I would not care what the inside track is. She'd nonetheless get a punch to the mouth earlier than being shoved down my entrance steps. In different phrases: wait till I'm learn to listen to approximately it, that's *after* I've woken up.

I think your approach is good. I would say thanks for asking. If I can I might visit your church. I myself am a worker in my church's children's ministry. The youth are our future. The youths are the world's innocents, no matter what situation they are in. They might even get their parents into going to church, any church.

God blesses you in your works.

That's the way it is done. You will cover a lot more territory and as a result, you will have more takers. And best of all you will have created a good impression on those who said no. If more people would take that attitude, a whole lot more of good will. would be created.

Do you really think that their problem is that they don't go to church? Or is it that they are blinded to their sins and they are in desparate need of God's saving Grace through Jesus Christ.

When I go door to door, I don't ask people to come to my church. I ask people if they're going to heaven, how they know, and if and when they are in error, I share the gospel with them that they will know.

Then when God saves them, they will want to go to church for the right reasons.

Just a thought...

I wouldn't mind if you came to my door to ask me to church. I already have a church, so I wouldn't accept. I think more Christians should do that. I wouldn't be pushy, but caring when asking people to visit my church.

It sounds like you are taking a good approach. I get aggravated by the people that tell me I'm going to hell, that their church is the only correct one, or something like that.
