I heard it (again) yesterday and while listening I realized it was an utterly stupid song. I told my hubby I thought it was stupid and he says I am impartial cause I dont believe in prayer. He has a point. So I thought I would ask some of you all.
Yes I am trying to prove to my hubby that "Pray" is a stupid song. After 16 years of marriage we find things to fight about every once in a while for old times sake. Sorry to bother you all with this but I got a dinner out to Chili's ridin on this!!
Here is a link if you have never heard the song!!

And just so you kow I dont have a problem with songs that stem from a religious sense. There are many I love in fact like
"I believe" by Brooks and Dunn
"If your reading this" by Tim McGraw.

MC Hammer is so old, I can't believe you actually heard that song. I can barely pull the memory of it out from last century... oh, yeah, it is a really stupid song, as I think are all songs like that. Good luck on your dinner at Chili's, I love their ribs.

Opinion shot himself in the foot there didn't he?

It's MC Hammer. He has no talent. His well known song was just a rip off of Rick James' "Superfreak"

but I should be impartial because I favor good music

MC Hammer is a sell out. When you can't possibly mess your life up anymore then you have you turn to religion. That's why religious people are so close. Misery loves company.

I thought it was pretty forgettable when it came out (so forgettable I can't even believe someone's posting a question about it 15 or whatever later), but I respected the sentiments behind it.

Actually, I'm not Christian, and I still like "Pray" -- it has a catchy beat, and like much of Hammer's music on that same album, it has a hopeful and positive message.

Pray is one of the worst songs made by the Hammer.

I followed your link and listened to the song ,and I really liked it .I wish more music like this were popular than than the music glorifying drugs and violence.

Well... personally i don't think it's stupid. His expressing in his words how he thinks that prayer is important. DON'T SEE ANYTHING STUPID IN THAT!!!
