On the flip side, wouldn't it make you feel prouder that our species survived through so much chaos and has become a "survivor species"? Don't you feel at least somewhat proud that, because of evolution, we are the dominant species on the planet? This last question does not mean that we are perfect masters of the planet; after all, we still destroy habitats, kill animals, cause pollution, etc.

Before any of you espouse that evolution is "just a theory," understand the scientific definition of theory. It is a principle that unifies a number of observations and results after a TON of testing and is capable of making good predictions for future tests and observations; it is different from a hypothesis, which is the colloquial "theory."

I have not yet seen "Hannibal Rising." I perhaps may do so one day. I am simply reading the books right now, from "Hannibal" through "Red Dragon." I don't know how good "Hannibal Rising" is, though.

As an atheist, I agree with your point of view in this area. I just wanted to say Hannibal Lector is too cool, great pic. Did you like "Hannibal rising"? I thought it was a good movie, even though the ending left much to be desired. Perhaps they'll give us another prequel? I hope so.

It does not hurt my feelings that you feel this way- but think about it this way- instead of "just getting here by luck or chance" you were actually thought of long before you came to be-and that God has a plan for each of us-and it is our choice to follow that plan or not. I would much rather believe that God loved me enough to give me life, physically, and then spiritually through Christ= then just being here because of chance. "Our species survived" through the grace of God, not luck. Sorry

Scoot B: "No theory, therefore, can be completely ignored as invalid. "

Creationism/ID absolutely can be ignored as completely invalid. It is not even a theory.

I love how people against the theory of intellegent design espouse scientific reasoning when it is clear that science has no "better" explanation for the orgin of the universe. No theory, therefore, can be completely ignored as invalid. The better question is "can your ego allow you to accept that something we don't understand is behind the creation of the universe?" That is the more practical question.

Why would you ever assume that humans came by chance? Are you that unwilling to accept the truth--that stubborn?
