Great question- I think all of us who truly have a personal relationship with God, through Christ, has at one point in their life had that "wrestling match". Before we accept Christ we fight, because we do not want to admit we need Christ- however, once we get at a place where we do, we fall into His arms, and accept Christ as the only one who saves us. Just had a conversation with a friend at church yesterday- about this- we both are going through come rough times- and how can some say- "we can survive without Him"- I can't - He is not a crutch for some weakling- He is God, and we are not- and we need a Savior.

Yes, a long long time ago, after a very abusive marriage, loss of a child and many other things going on at once. My mother was dying and my dad was threatning suicide, I had a son threatning suicide due to drugs . this was all at once and I only listed a few. The doc later said I had post traumatic stress, and my kids do too, from abusive and just seirous dysfucntional unhappy living all the time. Stress kills. and one day I woke up and I was on my face wanting onto to die. God got me thru that time, out of the marriage, and out of things that held me down and back and kept me from the peace of God. Since that time, HE has shown me so much, about how my allowing myself to remain a victim, kept me a victim all thru my life, when I only thought I was being loving and forgiving. Much there, would take books to write. BUt, I will say this, God was able to get me thru anything and everything, and now life is all good. As I tried to fix things my own way, I only made it all worse. Now, years later, God has delviered me from it all, and even has given me a true man of God for my husband. He got me thru it all. I kept sayin gin the past, God why dont you chnage this person or that situation. What I didnt see what God was wanting to change me. and once I got that, oh Boy, Hallelujah, its daily new change. Obedience leads to blessings. JEsus saves, Heals and delivers and Jesus is the only way to go, He has the answer to every problem we have, if we will give it to Him and then obey...
Yes, I had several radical moments before reaching the truth, but God held on and got me there. Jesus gives us the power to overcome, by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. We must be born again, and love God enough to obey, and not just say we believe. Even the devil belives.... hmmmmmm?

God is a gentleman, He will not wrestle with us. Jacob's situatuon was different. Ours will be somewhat different.
God loves His creation, man, and desires to have relationship with him, but will not "make" us serve Him. We will serve Him as we choose.
So many people have not chosen to serve Him, but that doesn't remove the love He has for His creation.
He will allow us to serve Him or we will serve ourselves. When we choose to serve ourselves, we are in essense serving satan. Satan is the god of this world. You can't serve mammon and God. You must choose. If you choose God, you will have all the benifits of serving the Creator.
There are many benefits in serving God, on this earth and in the world to come. When; you serve satan, there are m;any benefits to serving him, and hell to look forward to.
You will be rewarded one way or another. If you have no peace or joy in your life, join the giver of life, the giver of joy. Satan cannot fulfill anyone. Only God can do that. Only God can give "peace in the midst of the storm."
Follow on to know Christ and find the peace all men are looking for. God bless

Serenity,
I believe that we all find a point in our lives which we are not able to handle alone. GOD is one way for us to find help in such a time. HE has been there for my wife and I for over twenty years and we could not have been happier. Have a wonderful week.
Thanks,
Eds

Yes.....and I'm learning more and more everytime to just give in and let God take control of my life.
No point in wrestling....God loves us so much he will "pin" you down in the "wresling match" to keep you from hurting yourself or going astray.
Praise His Name!!!!!!!!!

I didn't wrestle with Him, I - hopelessly lost in my circumstances and depression said- "God! I can't live without you!" But I guess before I got to that point I was wrestling without even knowing it.

God isn't real, Any trials in my life are a direct result of something I have done to myself. If I have a problem I fix it. That's why I am so successfull.
