I think a very strong relationship comes from two people that are compatible. I think an important part is each others personality's, how each other reacts in certain situations!! Of coarse trust and honesty, but two people will never work if there personality's are not compatible!

People have this crazy theory that love and trust is this prepackaged deal and they exist on the same platform or plane. I believe that sincerity, respect, trust , loyality , and then love constitute a lasting relationship. Both parties must maintain communcation and honesty. Relationships need consistency and reciprocation to survive. Both parties must continously give.

Sense of humor - and trust and just being able to be yourself with that person - we've been married 15 years (in august) and if we couldn't laugh about everything after its all said and done we wouldn't be together - also we are a good balance he's a little of this (type a) and I am not -

Similar likes and dislikes (includes activities, food, people, etc)
Similar convictions - whether it's politics or religion. If you feel strongly one way, it is best if you see eye to eye.
A genuine care for that person's feelings and well being - regardless of the status of your relationship.
Providing for each other whatever that other person needs. Whether it's trust, stability, security...everyone needs something. You need to be able to provide that for them (best if able to provide it without diverting from your natural behavior).
Being able to laugh together - alot!
Total lust for each other. A strong sexual desire for each other is the icing on the cake.
