Definitely not. Agnostics don't worship a heinous Jesus-God who drowned, tortured, and slaughtered millions, conspired to have his own self/kid beaten and executed, and repeatedly commanded his followers to hurt and kill thousands of other people. None of that stuff is 'moral'.

No. Being religious does not make you morally superior.
It does however make one more accountable for their actions.
Rest, dear one, that you have taken a high road. You have done what is pleasing in the sight of the Lord by embracing the child.
As to why you would act more "upright" than a man who preaches the word of God - I cannot say for sure, but I could guess that based on your experiences (especially with your father) - it is more important to you to do the "right thing" because you understand first hand what it is like to be on the receiving end of someone who does not.
Blessings to you and yours.
(Edit) Although if I were to get my 'druthers in your life, it would be that you would re-visit your relationship with Christ in order to better be able to show your child the blessing of growing up with a righteous and honorable man of God for her father.

Ya, especially if a person understands it very well.
There are different levels of Faith, just like there are different grades in schools. Everyone starts out with the basics. The more in depth a person can go in their Faith and beliefs, the easier it is to get lost if they don't know what they are doing.
It could be from the fact that you know your father in a non-loving manner. You don't want your daughter growing up feeling the same way you did. That may also be the reason you don't believe in God as well. Because of the way he has treated you.
Best of Luck to ya.
EDIT:
Status in the spirit world does exist.
Is the reason there are priests, popes, Holy people, and the average man etc.

Mencius, the famous Confucian teacher, argued that we are as human beings inherently good by using the following example: If you were walking along a road and saw a child playing on the edge of a well, and then saw the child fall in, and no one else was around, you would run to help, would you not? Is there really anyone who would just ignore it?
This was his argument. Whether you find it persuasive or not is another question. But certainly people do all sorts of things, both good and bad, both because of their religious beliefs and in spite of them. All ethical systems, whether religious or secular, are human attempts to define write and wrong. Some have claimed that their teachings were written with God's own finger, but too many different groups have claimed that same thing for it to be plausible.

A "good" person can be right about some things and wrong about others. A "bad" person can be right about some things and wrong about others. I think real Christians are humble. There are many preachers, reverends, priests, whatever they call themselves who lost their way (assuming they started off in good faith in the first place). Being a preacher doesn't make a person Christian any more than working at McDonald's makes a person a hamburger. I don't want to make negative comments about your father specifically... you know it was/is wrong to treat you the way he did. God bless you for trying to do the right thing in your life. I hope you find God for yourself; it sounds like you are a good person already.

I have long battled with this one. And the conclusion I have reached is that some people like power, and they use religion to get it. My mother was brought up in a Methodist orphanage, and it was very cruel and harsh.
But I know many good, loving and true Christians who I believe live the life I would want to. And those are the ones I try to base my life on.
I wonder about your father's history. There might be clues to his abandonment of you. If it helps, my own father was an atheist and believe me, he resented his children. And hewas brought up in a happy home. People are odd.

You will be Judged according to the light you have... And he WILL be held accountable for calling himselfself a Christian.. and not living the life.. Jesus came and even showed the High Priests the err in their way-- but they were cold hearted & those the Priest judged... became followers of Christ. ..
All of us are human--- none are without sin-- therefore ALL should be humble... no one is Superior.

no one is morally superior . For Christians , it's the fact that we're all sinners , we just need to ask ( and truly mean it ) for forgiveness .
Morality is based on opinion and is in the eye of the beholder . For Christians , it's God who dictates to them what is wrong .
No one is morally superior .

Who's to say that you are acting in a more morally upright fashion? Sounds like your arm might be tired from patting yourself on the back there, chief.

the word is sanctimonious. I don't think they can defensibly claim any form of moral high ground.
