"To probe the link among religiousness, spirituality, and IQ, I had participants complete the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale Third Edition (WAIS-III), the Spiritual Transcendence Scale (STS), and a questionnaire that asked about their religious background and behavior, academic achievement, and SAT scores. Religious belief and behavior were negatively related to self-reported quantitative SAT (QSAT) scores. Moreover, prayer fulfillment (one of the STS subscales) correlated negatively with father’s education, and with self-reported scores on the Verbal SAT, QSAT, and Verbal IQ as measured by WAIS-III."

It is quite evident that the highest IQ will believed less in religions than lower IQ. Religions are all about how to explain our environment to increase our survival rate. So higher IQ have more capacity in answering more things about their immadiate environments than lower iQ that can`t figures out anything on their own. So I don`t think we need a study like this to proved that its relevant.
This is all too complicated for nothing, and I am sure that their initial premised was crap...

Impossible to equate spirituality with any tests, scores or profiles. Spirituality is entirely subjective and particular. Look at the mystics of the middle-ages, the peregrinatio of the sixth century or the monks of any age. Spiritual experience and the resulting effects in life or transcendence of any kind are hard to quantify as are their results. There are some things we cannot pin down and thank goodness for that. The quantum factor is an essential part of our understanding. Dogmatism should always escape us.

This is probably one of the dumbest testing procedures I
have ever heard of or seen.

Religiousness and spirituality have nothing whatever to do
with IQ.

I am a religious and spiritual person and my IQ is ... well
very high.

IQ testing only indicates what you know and says nothing
about your ability to put your knowledge to work. In essence
it is a useless number.

you like to write, don't you? But you really like to type, is that it? I could not help but to gaze upon all those serious words that you have spelled out. i hope and pray that one day you find happiness and peace, instead of distress.
