It was all about a bet that she had with her cousin Peter Piper.
He had already picked a peck of pickled peppers, whereas she had none. ( The well know bet of course was to see who could gobble the most pickled peppers down in an afternoon)
The secret answer to the question was that she was rather attractive and she was wearing an Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Yellow Polka Dot bikini whilst attending the sea-shell store.
Of course all the male customers came running over to buy her sea-shells, allowing her to by gargantuan amounts of pickeled peppers.
Later that afternoon she beat peter at the pickeled pepper eating contest so that the following day he had to wear her bikini at the sea-shell store
