Ive been scanning thru the religious questions, and have noticed that most people that answer seem to have an atheist point of view on the world. Im curious to know whether or not these are just the few who choose to answer, while those who are religious decide not to, or if most of the world is actually atheist. So my question to you is: Do you believe in a higher being, most often referred to as GOD, or do you not? Please give one GOOD reason to accompany your answer. thanx!

No, I don't believe in gods.
There is no evidence. Evidence is easier to find the proof.
Please note, I said "gods." I do not limit a discussion of god to just the Christian flavor.

I believe in a higher being, I believe in a God, actually in many Gods and even Goddesses. The reason I believe that is because i spent much time looking for a faith other then christianity to be a part of, i finally found it after research and knew deep down in my core that the faith i chose to become a part of completed me more then any other faith, and the more i learned the more i realised how uplifted and complete i felt and it was like a very powerfull core piece of me had finally been found. I also believe that there is not one true faith that everyone must follow or else something will happen to them, i think all faiths are acceptable and not one faith is better for everyone then another faith. For each person though they may identify with a certain faith more then others and for them it is better, but on a worldwide scale every faith has just as much validity as any other.
By the way for those of you who say i believe in nothing or say i dont have a belief you are contradicting yourself, you say you are believeing that you dont believe, obvious contradiction.

I'm no christian, but I definatly believe in god. But I think god isn't a man or a woman, but both, or neither....genderless. But if god did have to choose a gender, she'd definatly be a woman, because she'd have the ability to "birth" and nurture the earth, all other planets, humans, animals and space. I couldn't really tell you why I believe in god. I have no good reason. I never had a dramatic experience or saw any proof and trust me, I am a proof kinda gal. I guess its because I feel like living is a privlege, a "blessing" if you will and I feel like someone, something is responsible for giving it to me. Nature is by nature harsh and cruel, and when good things happen, I feel like I'm somehow being watched over.

That only proves most of the people here are atheist, not most of the world. Believers like to go to sites that confirm preexisting belief.
Did you want the reason I don't believe? I need a reason to believe something. I can't give you a complicated answer to that one.

No I do not believe in God because the whole concept of God is just silly to me. There is no proof outside of what some old text says and in regards to that why should I pick that old text out of any other old text? I feel that religion was just used to explain the unexplained in ancient times.

I believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
My first prayer to God was when I was 8 years old. No one had ever told me about God, nor had I ever saw a picture of the Image of God. I have been praying to Him ever since.

No. Just because human beings are complex enough to fantasize AND understand doesn't mean I have to lean towards the make-believe. Existence of a life form is just that, whether you are a tree, a butterfly or a human.

I do believe in God. I believe there is one true God, Jehovah is his name. Psalms 83:18 - "That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah,
You alone are the Most High over all the earth."
That's why I believe, the Bible tells the answers.

For the same reason I do not believe in unicorns, mermaids or dragons. There is no good reason to believe in these things.
