Only 1 JW (so far) has actually said a dozen words or so about what she found news-worthy. I hope others are more forthcoming - they should be if they believe Armageddon is immanent and you could die at it for lack of knowing "the truth".
I hear the public talk (the Big Item on the program) is "Follow The Christ" but I'll be surprised if there's anything new in it. Even if "new light" is revealed at these conventions, you and I will not be told by the JWs. They get a big lift from them, mainly due to socialising with fellow Witnesses, but that's not 'news' for others, is it? They'll just tell you to get the new book or the latest magazines. Well, I reckon if they cannot spell out in a few paragraphs, in their own words, one single item of great news they learned, it's hardly a convention worth going to.

Jehovah's Witnesses have arranged for literally THOUSANDS of conventions worldwide presenting the 2007-2008 theme "Follow the Christ". Hundreds of conventions will be held across the United States:

During 2006, more than 2.3 million attended Jehovah's Witness conventions in the United States, meaning that active Jehovah's Witnesses made up less than half of that attendance. The entire 2007 "Follow the Christ" program clearly admonishes its audience to follow Jesus Christ.

I haven't gone yet. Mine is July 20th - 22nd.
I'm looking forward to the new releases. It's always encouraging, even if there's no "new light" as some opposers mention. To new ones, there's a lot to learn, and for those who have been in the truth for a long time, it's always encouraging and uplifting. I know I always have areas I need to work on. I remember after one assembly telling my friend that "I needed to work on everything, except the music I listen to." It's like a vitamin B shot, it gives you the boost you need to get motivated, even if it's only last until the next assembly. Then you get another shot.
What I would like to know is why someone opposed even cares what was said at the assembly? I guess they will have to attend to find out.

IT WAS WONDERFUL!
i got baptized!!!
well i will tell you what i really liked.
The symposium on the second day (i think it was saturday)
when the brother talked about the smallest of jehovah's creation and how strong they actually are
he talked about the ant,
the gecko and other animals. im not gonna spoil it for you.
It was great. i cant wait for next years convention. :)

It so amazing! I got so much information. There was the sound drama, the costume drama, and the baptism (which I happened to one of the ones that was baptized this year!)If you have the chance to go to one in your area I would definitely take it! The theme is 'Follow The Christ!' I think that you will enjoy it!

I really liked the bible-based drama which helped us to avoid haughtiness in everyday life. But I must say, that the sound Drama on Friday really helped me to read the Bible by making it more realistic and imagining scenes and conversations.

there's plenty of upcoming conventions you could attend... then you won't miss a thing
