I was recruited after graduation (3.5 GPA) for a job &
went to 3 interviews and 2 job shadows ...then after the last time I have not heard back...the only thing negative that happened the whole time was in the 1st interview the recruiter said because of my age they would have to find the right team for me to be working with because it wouldn't be right working with younger people...that gave me a weird feeling right away..isn't that like saying to a different race that you can only work with people that are your race...isn't that against the law? I have called the place where the last meeting was and never recieved a call back ( rude?) and also emailed the regional director and said in a nice way that I was open to another meeting or job shadow...should I call the person who was recruiting me? The last meeting was June 19th. I was self employed for years before I went back to school ...so all this corporate stuff is new to me..does it really take 3 weeks to get back to someone

The time it takes for them to give an offer will be different for everyone. They might have to set up a work station, find a trainer, wait for the other person to quit, wait for the specific work for you to get in... The reasons are endless. If it is a high concern start looking else where just in case. You might be able to negotiate your pay and benefits easier that way ("This place (do not say the name of it) is paying 'x' (actually say amount) amount. Match it or beat it."). Don't offer another job shadow. I have never heard of anyone job shadowing outside of high school.

The age discrimination only counts if they don't want you because you are too old, not too young. That is the most irritating thing that I have come across. So people can pick on you for being young all they want but you can say something back if they are old. I think it's older than 55.

Hope that helps. Good luck.

A company can discriminate against age all they want. They just say, “This person was under qualified for the position available”. Depending on the position that you interviewed for, 3 weeks in not a very long time to wait for a call back. You have to think that most people do take vacation this time of year, and also, you are not on the top of their priority list when they get back in to the office (sad, but true). I am 24, just out of college, and I ran into the same thing with age. I just made it very clear in the interviews that I am qualified for the position (internships in college), and I am willing to work harder then anyone else they have working for them. I took age out of the picture, but that is what you have to do because they want to hire someone that they do not need to train.

I would interview at a few different companies to keep your options open. Just because they recruited you, does not guarantee you the job. All it means is that they were impressed by your resume. I would try to get 3 or 4 offers from different companies, and take the job that you like the most. Best of luck

3 weeks seems long, but remember that one week as the 4th of July holiday. I would call in about Wednesday.
