Hazardous materials
Articles listed in the Department of Transportation's Hazardous Material Regulations and/or the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations are restricted. These will only be accepted subject to advance arrangements and compliance with regulations.

For safety reasons, dangerous goods may not be packed in checked or carry-on baggage or taken on board with you. Restricted articles include but are not limited to:

Lighters
Lighter fluid
Acid
Explosives
Flammable solids/liquids
Oxidizing materials
Corrosive materials
Compressed gases
Poisons
Etiologic agents
Radioactive materials
Irritating or incapacitating sprays
Mercury
Noxious materials
Briefcases and attaché cases with installed alarm devices
Call United® at 1-800-United-1 in the U.S. for more information about hazardous materials.

Firearms
Federal regulations require that firearms in checked baggage or in their own shipping case be unloaded and declared. Firearms are not allowed in carry-on bags. Firearms in checked baggage must be packed in a locked hard-sided bag or gun case. A maximum of 11 lbs. of small arms ammunition is allowed in checked luggage in the original manufacturer's box or securely packed in a fiber, wood, or metal box to prevent movement of cartridges.

You can't have pocket knives, lighters, or any bigger weapons. You can't have liquids over 3 oz. The liquids you do have must be in a 1 quart clear plastic ziploc bag in containers that are store marked (and also 3 oz or less). This includes toothpaste, mascara, and other gel-type products that you don't really consider to be liquid. The plastic quart bag must be out of your carry-on and in plain sight when you go thru the security line. You can't bring a bottle of water with you either. You have to purchase them once you're beyond the security checkpoint. You can carry basically anything in your checked luggage though, so if it doesn't fit in your quart bag, just put it in your checked luggage. And, even once you do everything according to their rules, I guarantee you, they'll still search your bag, so just bear with it. Have a good trip.

Contact the customer service rep of your airlines or go to their website for that information. Also look at the Department of Homeland Security website for the latest updates. Don't rely on second person information get the facts from the people who will be deciding the fate of your baggage.

A good rule of thumb is to not bring anything you are not certain you should bring. Chances are it isn't allowed. No scissors, no knives, no needlepoint, no weapons (obviously), no pepperspray (found that out the hard way), and nothing that could be part of building a bomb. With all that out of the way, pack clothes, and a camera, and don't forget your toothbrush. Have fun and good luck!

You need to contact (try the website) the airline you are taking. They list dimensions of suitcases and carry-ons.

nicely, this is an exciting way of staring at suggestions. If I had a suitcase, i could placed interior it each and every of the flaws in existence that has made me satisfied over the years. i could throw away any element that made me satisfied or unhappy. i think my "suitcase" is each and every of the photograph albums I truly have remodeled the years of each and every of the birthdays, holidays, christmases, etc. I truly have enjoyed.
