I was actually once approached by a Christian zealot who tried using the opposite reasoning: that the Bible was written in the stars, and thus proved it was some eternal story. Of course, saying that a certain pattern of dots in the sky means "born of a virgin" is stretching it to say the least.
I don't know if I would say the Gospel story was based directly off of the zodiac belt, but I would say that both borrowed from a list of archetypes that show up in various other mythologies.

Eternity, ah yes, how it does tend to go on and on! I believe that before Jesus and therefore The Bible there had to be a prior beginning. Yes, there was Jesus mother the Virgin Mary, but where there's a mother and a child there also has to be a father--Right? If Jesus's father was God then how come we have never seen or heard about God walking around to be seen by all? Yet we know he had to be in the mix somewhere! That suggest that even though we haven't seen God he still has to be there---otherwise No Jesus. When you look at it like that you have to know that God also had a father, we know him as The Higher Power--Well, didn't the Higher Power also have a father----Evolution of a planet! We all evolved from Mother Earth, The Higher Power and so on and so on! Thanks for listening---Just my theory!

I'm on to some of this. I have been reading about how the numbers are similar to astrology and there are several different parables involving the zodiac.
There was talk about the Fish supplying the multitude with the loaves, in which the fish were Pisces and the Loaves represeted the bread of the virgin. Any sites you know of?

Doubt it...the Bible warns that witchcraft/astrology/fortune telling/ necromancy/ etc. are all of 'another' source and not of God....it doesn't say that magic isn't real (remember Moses dueling with the Phaoroh's Magicians?)...it just says that the source of it's power is derived from 'other' than God and for believers in God to avoid all of them.

I've never heard this before in relation to astrology, but I have heard it in relationship to previously existing religions. Read "The Golden Bough" for more information on it. There is also plenty of information on the web, but you can't always trust the sources unless they are verified independently.

ABSOLUTELY!!!
I heard that from many people, including a gentleman who was very 'high up' in an orthodox, established religion today (don't want to mention names as he has to keep it quiet!)

Their is a Story written in the Heavens but it seems you have been misled of the true understanding,....corruption has always played part through out history,...........this is why so many are misled by partial truths then it leaves many of them doubting,.......but when the Lord arrives he will teach us many things......... I still appreciated your question,....God Speed
