Every drug out there has possible side-effects.
That means that somebody, somewhere, at some time may experience an item on the list.
I'm sure that even a spoon full of sugar or a shaker of salt could carry its own list of possible side-effects.
The good news is: As rare as it may be to be the one-in-a-very-rare-case, the possible side-effects, in most every case will not apply to you.

For myself, Zoloft has been a Godsend, I have gotten my life back, and my friends have taken me off the "disabled list". Without Zoloft I could not function in any sort of relationship, or even be able to function in my own daily responsibilities.

Of the possible side effects, I weigh the presence of merely one with the return of joy and relationship and the ability to think and function. I choose having my life back as the best choice.

25mg. is a very low dose. You have very little to worry about.

So, when you begin actually taking your Zoloft you will worry less and panic less. That is your possible benefit!

When you are dealing with antianxiety or anti depressant medications, it is very important to give them time to work. If the doctor specifically told you you may take 40mg if 20mg wasn't enough, then I would try it. If the side effects are too severe, you can always back down again. At that point it would be best to see the doctor again and perhaps he may be able to switch medications and you may have better results with less side effects. Most likely, increasing the dosage will increse the side effectcts, but only those that you had with 20mg. You shouldn't get any new side effects popping up. If you don't feel relief from the dose you are on and the doctor has said it is safe to increase the dosgae, then try it and see what happens. Remember when you increase, stick with the dose if at all possible for several weeks. The side effects may subside after the new dose is in your system and working. Good Luck!

Dear Sick.............there are possible side effects with taking any medication including aspirin. Doctors and pharmaceutical companies are afraid to prescribe medications without making the patient aware of any possible side effect. I refused to take anti-depressants for my panic/anxiety attacks and got worse and worse. I was afraid of the potential side effects so I continue to try to fight my symptoms on my own. My story can be found on Yahoo Search under "The Last Temptation of George Petrie". I take a similar medication to what you have been prescribed and have not had any adverse reactions. The plus side is that I am now stronger than ever and have controlled my panic attacks. Please don't let one fear allow you to feed into your others and ruin your life. These SSRI medications are very safe and effective. best wishes

I took those things and while I didn't have seizures or bleeding, I can honestly say that I was like a zombie. You don't notive it at first but after a few weeks on that stuff, you will be completely numb to like all emotions. I had a death in the family and I didn't shed one tear which was really odd. My family said my eyes always looked glossed over and empty like I was stoned. You need to really talk to your doctor about the medication and tell him your entire medical history before taking that medication.

I am fine I have been on Zoloft for 6 months now and the only side effects that i had was loss of sleep for about 1 week and nausea for about 1 week.. That all left and I feel great now. The only thing that you can do is try it for yourself because everyone is different Good Luck!!!

Those warnings are the worst that can happen but most likely won't. It will make you feel numb but you have to choose whether your anxiety is bad enough to deal with possible side effects or if it can be dealt with naturally. If your anxiety is severe give it a try, it will help.

I have taken it. It is ok. Everyone is different, so what is good for me may not be good for you. Everything has a long list of possible side effects...even aspirin.
