Hard to answer since Vista comes with Media Center. But if you are thinking of upgrading your operating system, then I would go with Vista. It is the OS of the future. I've been running it for about 5 months, and have had no problems at all. Just like XP, after the program is installed it needs a little tweaking, but it run smooth, fast, and secure, and hasn't blue screened or frozen yet.

The media Center on Windows Home Premium Kicks the one in XP from here to the moon and back twice.

If you intend to use the Media Center, With DVD's, Pictures, and Non DRM MP·, besides browsing the net a bit, it's perfect. its a lightweight and for now, Future Proof. Besides it connects nicely with the XBOX360 and all the extenders.

I would go with Vista Home Premium. if you intend to do something else in the pc besides the Media Center, Check the compatibility of what you want to do with vista.

So far the only thing That have ever given me problems are MSDOS 1994 Games. everything else runs just fine.

I believe Windows Vista, but I am not sure, because I use Windows XP Media Center, but I know that all the computers come up with it, and that Vista is also more expensive, so may be it is better.

well, it depends on what you want. the problem with Vista is that not ALL software is compatible with it. if you have a computer with XP on it and you want to upgrade to Vista. i dont recommend it. cause youll have to upgrade all you software. which might mean getting a new graphics card or sound card. but if you plan on buying a new unit. than go with Vista. the advantage with having Vista is that it's faster and faster networking too. but if your looking for entertainment options. go with XP media center edition. alot more options. plus XP is much more customizable than Vista since its been out longer. i have Vista with Media Center. in my honest opinion.....go with XP. cause its probaly cheaper. if i were you id wait to get Vista. cause MS is probaly come out with service packs for it, and when they do. that would be a good time to buy it. cause the service will fix all the bugs. thats my opinion

Forget Vista.

XP is tried and tested, much more stable and Microsoft have recently said that they will be suppoting XP for at least the next 7 years owing to its Global coverage.

none... infact recomend that you use either windows 98se or windows xp home edition instead. if you choose win98se it is very user friendly and easy to navigate & use and you can automatically get windows updates for it just by clicking on the windows update icon.
