So far, the only thing that is missing for my wedding is a suit for my fiance. Other than that, my budget so far is less than $2,000. Yes less than two thousand dollars. It depends on what kind of wedding you want and who you have to help out!

Well, that's kind of a complicated question. The average "budget" or what the couple planned on spending to begin with is probably completely different from what they actually end up spending. The average cost of a wedding in the U.S. is around $27,000. Considering that most people spend more than they orignially budgeted, I would guess that the average budget began as about $20,000. I can't really say anything about being a good budgeter, we threw ours out the window a while back. I think a lot of couples go over budget because they didn't realize how expensive a wedding can get before they started spending money. Its always a good idea to do your research before you decide on anything.

the average today is $25,000 but spend what you can afford without going into debt....there are plenty of ways to cut costs down and still have a beautiful wedding...
print your own inviations and programs
dont buy expensive favors, some candy and tulle will do
dont give a food choice, but do mention special dietary
needs to the vendors
buy your dress on sale and have someone other than the bridal shop alter them
do silk flowers if you can
and here's a big one...although tricky....try not to mention that your dinner or flowers (if getting fresh) are for a wedding...food is much cheaper if it was for say...an anniversary party. once you show up with the wedding party there isnt much they can do.

My wedding is simple but classy. Our budget is only $2500 not including the honeymoon. You can do an elegant wedding for less than $3,000. You just have to look for good deals and cute, homemade ideas.

The average wedding in the U.S. is $27,000, excluding the honeymoon. 40% of that goes toward the reception (food, cake, alcohol). It obviously depends on your budget and the area that you live in.

I've heard 20-30K, but in reality it is a big range. if you consider that the average reception at a hotel, country club or banquet hall is around $50-70 per guest, if you invite 150 people, that is $7,500 - $10,500 just for the food, booze and space - doesn't include the cake, DJ, photographer, flowers, dress, etc.

The average wedding in the US costs 27k ... in larger cities, like NYC, Chicago, Miami and DC those costs are much more. I am based in the DC area and our average is closer to 40-45k.

Stupid brides will tell you to spend upwards of 30,000 bucks. But i have planned my entire wedding with 3,000 dollars. you can save money buy doing simple things like having a wedding in a recreation area, mine is on a beach and it may be free if you live in that city or have a friend who does. also i saved my going to bridal salons and get a custom bridesmaid gown in white, bridesmaids dresses are inexpensive and now have lots of details. veils cost about 200 bucks if your dumb but go to an art and crafts store and they have plain ones for 20 dollars and you can customize it yourself. Also post ads for catering, hairstylist and makeup artist. save where you can a try going to bridal shows to find ideas and copy them. good luck
