Bear can symbolize lot of things. In the Bible, it symbolizes a country. However, in your case, ..
Bear = powerful figure
Didn't attack you = didn't criticize you
It didn't attack you because you are feeling respect and this could involve some powerful figure. It can mean cops, teachers, boss, etc
In your case, even though it didn't attack you, you have this fear among them. Same goes with normal behavior when we are with our parents, cops, boss and so on.

If you have been reading about the recent bear activity around the nation then it means nothing. If you had something strange to eat, went to the zoo etc you have to take that into account…..otherwise most of the time a bear not in a cage, nor on display dancing in your dreams symbolizes a victory over a hostile opposition.
