Probably not. We do know that at the darkest time of the year the light of the World came into the world.

I believe that God honors that day for our sake.

The fact that there were shepherds in the fields tells us that it was not winter, because in that area during the winter temperatures can drop to below freezing. Luke 2:8 tells us they were tending the flocks at night, something which would have been done between April and October in that region.

Also there's the Roman census that was the reason Mary and Joseph were traveling to Bethlehem. The census would have most likely been taken after the harvest season, around September or October.

Also we can trace the date of his birth to Autumn based on John the Baptist's birth. Elizabeth was 6th months pregnant when Jesus was conceived (as per Luke 1) and Zacharias at the time was a priest serving in the temple during the course of Abijah (also in Luke 1) which would have been June 13-19 of that year. So John was conceived sometime in June, add nine months to that and he was born around March. Therefore Jesus would have been born sometime around September.

Is it 100% accurate? Nah. But it's a better guess than December 25.

"Luke 1:5 says that John's father, Zacharias, was "a member of the Abijah division of the Temple service corps." (Living Bible)

1 Chronicles 24:15 assigned the priests of the Abijah division to begin temple service at the start of the 9th week of the year. But at the end of the week, Pentecost had begun, so he would have remained on duty until the end of the 10th week.

Luke 1:23-24 records that Zacharias returned immediately to his home, and that John was conceived shortly thereafter - probably during the last half of Sivan, the 3rd month in the Jewish calendar.

Allowing for a normal 9 months pregnancy, John would have been born in the springtime.

Luke 1:36 records that the angel came to Mary when John's mother Elizabeth was 6 months pregnant.

Luke 1:31 reports that Mary conceived very shortly after the angel's visit.

Assuming a normal, 9 month pregnancy, Jesus would have been born about 6 months after John - sometime in the fall of the year. "

Based on the Jewish calendar Jesus was born on the 1st day of the Feast of Tabernacles! In the year 5 B.C.E., this fell in the month of September. six months after John. By celebrating His birthday in December doen't mean that we are celebrating the pagan's god of the sun of w/e... We (Christians) can celebrate Christ any day we want to. If I wanted to celebrate my birthday today even though it's not till April, I could and it wouldn't mean I was celebrating whoevers birthday it is today...

Luke2:1, Luke 1:56-57, Luke 1:39, John 1:4, Luke 1:8, John 1:5, Deuteronomy 12:28...

No, that was not His date of birth. We can deduce that from the fact that the census would have most likely taken place in the fall, long after Passover.

It's also possible that the census took place in the spring, before Passover.

Either way, there would not have been one in December.

Sorry i am going to answer this anyway.

We (Christians and Atheists) know that Christ was not born on the 25th December. I have heard somewhere that Jesus was born about July/June. I know the reason why it is on the 25th of December but i wont say it because you properly wont want to hear it...

It is known that Constantine chose this date to celebrate the birth of Christ...the people were still worshipping the sun god, having a festival on this day, and weren't about to give it up. So, good 'ol Constantine gave it a Christian value.
The REAL date is unknown, though it is believed to be in the Spring of the year, since the shepherds were out in the fields.
It would have been intolerant in the Winter, they would not have been out there.
Knowing how God devises things, His timing on things, it would not surprisse me if He chose to be born on Passover.

Some say spring around Passover some say fall.

It had to be a time when the sheep would have been out in pasture. Israel's climate is similar to the U.S.

But it wasn't Dec 25, this was a pagan holiday and Christians tried to use if for good instead of evil.

It is not the actual date, but it is the national day of celebration for Him. Some have tried to calculate His birthday and I'm sure some are right, but it was 2000 yrs ago. No one would know this.

All you have to celebrate is His love and sacrafice.

Though I don't think it can be proven, I believe that Christ was born at the time of Hanukah (Christmas) because this is the festival of lights (star in the sky). He was crucified at Passover (Easter) to be our passover lamb who's blood covers our sin, and I believe He may return at Yom Kippur (festival of atonement) to reclaim His bride.
