Before I give you sites, you should be aware that theres more than just Protestant and Catholic. There is also Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox which, outside of the US, make up about 40% of Christians or something like that. You may know them as Russian or Greek Orthodox (same thing). The difference between the Oriental and Eastern Orthodox is one half of one doctrine. The dispute arose over how the human and divine natures exist within Christ in the fourth Ecumenical Council. The Eastern Orthodox Church is allegedly the oldest Church in existence. They accept all 7 Ecumenical Councils. The Eastern Orthodox Church was also the first to protest Rome's theology (or rather, Rome protested the Orthodox theology - particularly concerning the matter of the Filioque, which the Orthodox decisively declare to be a heretical doctrine). Rome also, under Pope Leo III? or II? actually rejected the Filioque and stated that it would never accept that heretical doctrine. Unfortunately, not long after that, under the rule of another Pope, Rome did accept the Filioque.

Contrary to what a few Roman Catholics might tell you, the Orthodox are not in communion with the Roman Catholic Church. The Roman Catholic Church tends to be a bit more 'ecumenical' than the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox. They Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Orthodox also are not in communion with each other, however, steps are being taken to reconcile the Churches and determine if their theology actually deviates or not. You can read about their efforts here...

There is also the Restorationist movement which technically isn't Protestant because it wasn't a protest against Roman Catholicism but against Protestantism. Restorationist churches normally get their theology from some guy that had a vision or idea some several odd years or decades ago. I consider Restorationism to tend to be a bit cult-ish. Forgive me if any find that offensive.

To get the differences between these Churches, a good place to start is Wikipedia...

VAYA,

There are so many different beliefs among Baptists that it is difficult to answer your question. I have a MA from a Baptist University in Reformed Theology and know that Baptists are a very diverse group with a wide range of beliefs and teachings. Each church is independent and their theology is directed by the pastor who uses his charisma to teach his version of the Baptist faith.

Jeanmarie,

Mary Ann Collins does not exist and that name is just a tool of anti-Catholics to attack Christ's Church. The writings under the name of Mary Ann Collins have many different authors who hate Christ's Church and His faithful. Catholics certainly do not worship St. Mary.

Is there a website about the differences between the scriptures and the Catholic/Baptist faiths presently?
By addressing those differences, perhaps both groups (and others) will benefit now and in the future!!!
