The term 'holiness' means different things to different people.
I applaud you on your quest for holiness. Keep up the great work - but remember, if you should fall short, God's grace and mercy are there to help you get back on your path!
I try to live to the best of my ability. There are some things I need to work harder on (like thinking positive thoughts when others hurt me), and other things I feel come second nature (like spending time in prayer and study).
I try to treat my body as the holy temple it is. I watch what I wear and what I eat and what I do with it.
I try to treat other people as holy people that God created by actually listening to them, showing them respect and trying to help them out.
And I try to remember that at the end of the day, it is not how holy I have been to man made rules - but how I have lived (and not judged) that benefits my fellow man...
I try really hard NOT to have a holier than thou attitude with other people. It makes shining my light for Christ easier!

Like I always say Strive for perfection settle for exellence without god it's impossible to be holy, with him it's next to impossible (although it is possible) and yes it's important to some christians, others just like to call themselves christians so people think they are nice. You know this is totally not answering your question sorry. I'm on a sugar rush lol. I'm a teenager and it's sorta hard to focus on God you know 24/7 I know you are supposed to and I definitly try my hardest not to do anything wrong, but I don't know that's I'm doing a lot of good. I mean I know I have all the right beliefs but the most I'm doing is getting on answers and debating about him I never talk to the extremely few friends I have since I can't keep friends long. (long story won't get into it) guess I gotta change. I think spreading the gospel is just as important as being holy, but nt more, because you know the reason Ghandi ( I know, great guy) was never a Christian was because a Christian preacher rejected him beasue he wasn't white, and that was really bad and that cost ghandi the eternal of his happy life if you know what I mean. I mean, it was still ghandi's choice but he wanted to be a Christian but afte rbeing rejected he thought we were ba dor mean or something so being holy, and just and kind is in fact just as important as spreading the gospel.

God is spoken of as being perfect in holiness ( Exodus 15:11). His throne is called one of holiness ( Psalm 47:8). God dwells in a holy city ( Rev. 21:2, 10; 22:19). That city is called Zion. In this city will true Christians live eternity with God, so yes, holiness is a matter of life and death to me. For without holiness, no man shall see the Lord ( Hebrews 12:14).

Being Holy is very important to me, it means that the Lord dwells within me.
Hey slowpoke, the wonderous thing is that Jesus died for all the sinners, even you and me. And what a sinner can do to be Holy is to strive to be just like Jesus, and let Him live within you in the temple which is your body. If you think that you've sinned too much, you can always make a u-turn to go back to Him. The wonderful thing is that He will be there for you until you die and go to the grave, after that there is no more chances.

All the things you mention are good and may God bless you. We are all called to be saints and to be like Christ. This is not easy due to original sin and worldly things that try to take us away from Christ but we must as St.Paul said, "finish the race."
This is one paragraph from the Catechism of the Catholic Church on Charity -
826 Charity is the soul of the holiness to which all are called: it "governs, shapes, and perfects all the means of sanctification."
If the Church was a body composed of different members, it couldn't lack the noblest of all; it must have a Heart, and a Heart BURNING WITH LOVE. And I realized that this love alone was the true motive force which enabled the other members of the Church to act; if it ceased to function, the Apostles would forget to preach the gospel, the Martyrs would refuse to shed their blood. LOVE, IN FACT, IS THE VOCATION WHICH INCLUDES ALL OTHERS; IT'S A UNIVERSE OF ITS OWN, COMPRISING ALL TIME AND SPACE - IT'S ETERNAL!

particular I do. Spirit is a Latin be conscious (Spiritus) meaning 'breath'. in this occasion a 'divine breath'. meaning the 'breath' of God provide us the existence and the possibility to realize it and evolve ourselves from animal in the direction of the 'genuine' guy. The Holy Spirit is even the sole situation that permit us to hitch the whole advent, with the objective to no longer earnings on it nor smash it, reason on the alternative it would be our own end.

YES. It is really easy to say you're saved. "God said it, I believe it, that settles it." Sure!
But faith without works is DEAD. And is a slap in the face of God.
I haven't attained perfect holiness, certainly, just as Paul said, but "forgetting what is past, I press on toward the mark for the prize."

I have never considered myself Holy. I don't know if I can be, my flesh always wars against my spirit, so to speak. My flesh wins. Thank God for Jesus. I may make it to the heavenly kitchen to serve meals to the righteous.

Yes, as a Christian, I don't smoke, drink, cuss, I dress deceintly, I do not wear shorts or cut off jeans. My wife has long hair, & she does not smoke, drink, nor cuss, & she wears long dresses & no make-up. To many they may think we are misable because we abide by these rules, But little do they know that as a Christian these rules comes to us naturally.
